Passed my car driving test in Hinckley. Spent most of it doing 60 on the A5 which was nice…
Grew up living in small village between Stoney Stanton and Earl Shilton and found it ok. Have since lived in East London (Leyton), Reading, Slough, Colchester, Eastbourne, and Carlisle and after Slough and London I would take any location in Leicester area with open arms. Good luck!

Peterborough and Northampton have nothing to commend themselves I’m afraid.
I like in Glen Parva near Blaby and quite like it, property is reasonable. 3 miles from J21 / M69. Nice village centre with Waitrose, Aldi etc in Blaby with decent parks and a few pubs. Glen Hills school has excellent Ofsted rating if you have a young family?. 4 miles from City Centre although traffic lights on A426 make the journey a long slow ride.
Fosse Park up the road also for shopping and huge supermarkets there also. I have lived in far worse areas. Hope this helps.

Don’t know about white minority but certainly out numbered by all other nationalities (Somali,polish,Asians). The place is a carp hole I was born here and have lived my hole life here and I feel like an outsider. As soon as my mortgage is paid I will be moving. Roll on 8 years time.

It’s in with being one of the 10 big cities in England so yes it has immigration issues & it’s multicultural like any other big city, but a dump, compared to what ? I would say it was maginally better than some more industrial cities !
But living in South Leicestershire is ideal for agency work on transport because of Sth Leicester ind’ areas magna pk, crick & Hinckley ! And has excellent connections to the M1
