They told us at our Group Assessment that 2’500 people applied for the driving jobs.
I applied but didn’t make the interview stage, even though I DO KNOW what to wear for an interview !!!

I went for my group assessment Friday, enjoyed it, seems like an amazing company to work for, the benefits are far and away the best I’ve ever come across.
The Assesment - All designed to see how you interact with others, they are observing you from the moment you arrive.
Stopped accepting applications at 3,000
Smart Casual means a shirt and trousers for those who don’t understand the term.
Becoming a partner is right where I’d like to be.
Good Luck to all who attended and wish to become partners!

I completely agree. I’ve worked for big companies before but they seem different, and the benefits look great. Maybe not mega money but I think everything else more than makes up for it.

I feel the same. I reckon if I got on there I’d be really happy. Plus, you’d be getting on at ground level and everyone would be new so that’d be interesting too. I’ve only ever started at places long after they opened up the site.
Let’s hope we cross each others paths while both working there, I’d love to get on.

I miss safeways personally…
Ah they were the days, us warehouse chaps had it blummin easy. Cheers Morrison’s.
I miss kwiksave to be fair! mind you
they weren’t that quick!
i agree with everything winseer has said hes spot on. theres no way they had the amount of applications there claiming to have had its the usual waitrose PR crap there just saying all that so everyone will think there onto a good thing and wont question it when they tell you the shift pattern is any 5 from 7 with daft oclock starts.
oh and then it’ll be sats & suns & bank holidays dont exist and your DAYCAB is parked overthere! goodluck to anyone whos on earlys with a daycab u’ll be a zombie within a week!
i knew loads of lads who said they were applyin till they saw the rates on offer £9.21ph puts the pay well behind coop sainsbury and even asda all in same area.

So are you saying waitrose don’t pay extra for Sundays and bank holidays?
all im saying is how can you trust a company that charges more for its homebrand products than it does for the leading brand.
there trading on a myth and wont last two minutes in the north people up here arent that daft.

Well they seem to be doing ok. 17% bonus to everyone certainly doesn’t seem too bad to me?
Can I just point out that £9.21 is the recruiting rate and each and every driver is assessed on their own performance and not paid the same.
At TNT I was fed up of being paid the same as all the lazy bar stewards who ducked every Monday and had a bath/shower once a fortnight and also took no pride in their work whatsoever.
The John Lewis Partnership is renowned as being one of the best companies to work for.
There will always be people who knock and call and criticise.
Driving Day Cabs has no effect on the job whatsoever…
Hi guys I went to Leyland dc for my group assessment/interview on the 18 th march it took them a week to say id passed my group assessment and I now have to wait 2 weeks for a date for my driving assessment.
Btw 2500 applicants for all the jobs in the dc including drivers, warehouse ops, office staff, cut down to 700 interviews for all jobs.
i cant believe they only got 2000 applicants for the warehouse jobs at £6.20ph i’d have expected at least double that especially with them being the best company in the world.
What would be the point of going to work for £6.odd per hour?If there is any travel to work expense then you would be paying them for the priviledge of having a job.
And its split weekly rest eg 5 over 7 so could be working monday tuesday, wednesday off thursday friday saturday and sunday off.Or any other permutation they like.
Sounds good to me! NOT.
Got an email back from Waitrose today
Thank you for taking part in our recent group interview. I am pleased to tell you that we will now be considering your application further. Within 3 weeks you will hear from us to let you know either that we would like you to self schedule for a driver assessment, or that we plan to keep your application on hold. If we keep you on hold and a suitable vacancy comes up within the next three months we will get back in contact with you. In the meantime, if you review your status on the system, it will state that your application is on hold following group assessment.
Doesn’t really tell you much does it? But hey another step forward!!

You seem to have nothing better to do than rip people who’ve got or had interviews.
You went the open day said the money was rubbish and still applied. If it was that bad and didn’t want it why waste the time applying? Then applying again cos you got knocked back…

You put what ever you feel comfortable with pal■■?
Why not try a stobbarts shirt for a change
Where were the Leyland jobs advertised? I’ve been checking their website for months and nothing has been listed for Leyland. I was made redundant two days before Christmas and have been hoping to get a job with John Lewis/Waitrose. Oh well, looks like I’ve missed this one. Back to the JSA every fortnight.
