Got an email back from Waitrose today :slight_smile:

Thank you for taking part in our recent group interview. I am pleased to tell you that we will now be considering your application further. Within 3 weeks you will hear from us to let you know either that we would like you to self schedule for a driver assessment, or that we plan to keep your application on hold. If we keep you on hold and a suitable vacancy comes up within the next three months we will get back in contact with you. In the meantime, if you review your status on the system, it will state that your application is on hold following group assessment.

Doesn’t really tell you much does it? But hey another step forward!! :slight_smile:

have you heard anything since? the only contact ive had since this email was to say that they are working their way through everybody and I should hear soon.

I applied for a local driving job with Waitrose doing house deliverys not an HGV job I still have my licence but at 65 I wanted partime work to keep me active ,after the interview ,I received a letter saying I wasnt experienced enough driving a small fridge box van, as most of my 25 years driving was spent driving to the Middle East ,Greece and Turkey ,What a load of Tossers They had no Idea what driving was :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

They want 25 year olds and younger with 25+ years experience. :wink:

Those that actually have 25+ years experience are considered too old of course… Ageism.

What I find amazing is, who has the fg time to interview 700 people, then give them various assessments for warehousing and driving. For a start if you have a Class 1 licence or whatever they call it nowadays, you can bloody drive a truck, its not like they want you to do general haulage with a 3 trailer road train is it, as for warehousing, come on. is that rocket science.

Personally I think its an insult to peoples intelligence making them do all that crap, I am not knocking the guys/girls that go through all the stages to get a job, hats off to them, but I am knocking the planks who come up with all this garbage.

This will make u laugh I bumped into the Manager of the local Waitrose I went for the interview ,he came over and said that someone had told him who I was ,and he had been given a copy of The Long Haul Pioneers to read ,he said I could have the job but I declined ,due to his reaction the first time,but put him in touch with a freind who needed a job more than me as he has kiddies to feed and a wife who likes looking good in fancy clothes :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:
