Well done Coomsey, I even understood the accent.Understood my accent ? Gerrawiweyamiodebod !
Obviously Welsh.
Sed Atki 301 replaced an F86 at the old firm I work for, eventually removed the crane and added a coil well when local brick yard closed
A new AEC being backed into the garage…or driven out of
Classic…driven by Tommy Wilson, bet she flew …well best it could
Must be a contender for best ! NMP off FB
86 that was replaced by the 301 Sed Atki, before it hit the railway bridge in Newtown mid wales, after driver left the crane up in the air…not me by the way…

Well its a 1951 Preston reg, Larry.
Do you remember this one Larry ? ; VNL 18. It was at Redpaths of Wooler when I first started in workshop after leaving school; it was in Redpaths colours then but still had Muckle name on cab top.it was sold a few months later. Colin.
Not my pic but this is one of the ‘sister’ vehicles of the first 8 legger that in 1984 I was trusted to drive for a living after leaving the spanners! Mine was GWJ 823V and four years old when I got it, actually when it was sold off after six years (the standard Tilcon renewal policy) the purchaser from the Buxton area bought mine and the one in the pic. The Sed Ak’s arrived at our quarry in batches, supplied by Bradley Trucks of Clay Cross and painted by K & M Haulage from Hucknall.
Then in May 1986 I was given this Foden brand new, actually the last tipper that Tilcon had at our quarry. Of course Tilcon later sold the fleet and our TM took on some of the tipper fleet which is why it is lettered as STB Transport.
Ten and a half years later in October 1996 that one was sold to one of our drivers who was setting up as an OD and I was given this brand new, one of three that came together from Charnwood Trucks. I drove it for twelve months and then left the company to drive for a local haulier and had a 1987 Foden six wheeler so that ended my eight wheeler time!
Pete.

Hi Colin, I remember it very well with its triple deck livestock body, IIRC They had two of them, Larry.

Did she suit you Colin? I rated mine, but 6th was a bit of a do to get,so I didn’t use it unless necessary. Having said all that, she was an easy start addict,n given much longer so would have I been !

Yes I liked the one I was on mainly cos it had power steering as the artic I was used with at Morton’s had no power steering and just had the DB 6 Speed box.

Got to be up there with the best, I drove 6/7 mostly 180g n dB 6 , frustrating with the slow box, even worse with the ■■■■■■■ 180
A good opportunity to unearth this thread, with this Chinese Baoji eight-wheeler. Certified Photoshop-free. I also had at a time a scanned brochure, but can’t put a hand on it anymore.
