A couple that should be on the Ergo thread, which I still think was a nice lorry to drive in those days.

I drove one of these full time for C W Griffiths and I still think it was the best lorry I drove at the time with the TS3 engine.

A nice ERF seen at Gaydon a couple of years ago.

I took this photo some years back at Leyland, I stopped overnight for the show it was a brilliant day the weather was perfect, Not like what a suffering with these days, Regards Larry.

The one I drove was a BFO347D Larry, same as yours two speed with a five speed box plus overdrive, superb brakes which were needed as they wouldn’t shaft as you know on the downhill. Some of the other drivers said it was uncomfortable and rough to ride in.I thought it was great after an under powered TK.
Cheer’s Dave.

A tidy motor Dave, Im tempted , but alas no where to keep anything now apart from my old MGB GT, Im sur I would have had great pleasure of owning such a gem & of course driving it, Rankins from the Tyne ran quite a few of them, The drivers loved them loads of power in their day Eh, & Of course they were totally british made, Regards Larry.

When I was a kid in the 1950’s Larry,a bloke who lived next door to us drove a Leyland Comet flatbed which was one of two that S W Brisbane of Knighton had o long distance. It looked a big lorry to me in the mid 50’s.My Dad drove S type Bedfords and J types, but the Comet stood out from them.
Cheers Dave.
