What would I hope to achieve exactly trying to '‘set you up’ ? other than childish point scoring which I aint really into tbh…I leave that to certain othets on here.
The discussion was the reliability and durability of EVs in comparison to conventional cars.
I was told by an authoriative source that after a few years they can (and do) give more trouble and more cost csn be expected than said conventionals…given that they are still in a very early stage of development.
You said ALL your EVs were trouble free,.so I asked you if they were all brand new or not…just to confirm or refute that point…
Why are you being so defensive exactly especially after freely and enthusiasticlly promoting and recommending EVs on here?
What you would '‘go as far as to say’ is absolutely correct, for the reasons I have clearly laid out in the discussion.
I aint ‘‘dressing anything up’’ mate I’m being totaly unambiguous and crystal…yeah I dont like them.
So in the spirit of the debate, (to compare older EVs to older conventional cars,…)
In your trouble free motoring was it with new or older used cars, and in your experience would you refute that older EVs could be worse than conventional cars.
That aint t’rying to catch you out’ .‘set you up’ ‘twist’ or ‘‘how I work’’ it’s a relavant question to continue the discussion.

Not trusting the motivation for imposing a relatively inferior technology v ICE isn’t the same thing as loathing them.
So let’s see some examples of 3 years old main dealer approved with 2 years extended warranty used EV’s available on PCP ?.
That might answer Robs question.
To be fair Rob you’d need to have more money than sense to run a modern turbocharged to within an inch of its life over complicated ICE engine outside of a main dealer used approved warranty and PCP deal.
If the dealers are willing to offer the same warranty and PCP deals for EV’s as ICE that might answer the question.That whole business plan is based on residual values and by definition durability.
Huawei are launching a 1.5 MW charger for heavy-duty trucks that will charge the truck in under 30 minutes on the 22nd April & Zeeker are bringing out a 1.2 MW charger for cars in Q2.
How are legacy auto going to compete now? Just imagine what the charging infrastructure will be by the end of the decade.
Just like the MW chargers then. BP selling 260 petrol stations in Austria & 310 in the Netherlands not counting the stations Shell & TotalEnergies are selling in four EU countries by the end of this year, It’s getting closer to Blighty eh! Have fun driving round to find a petrol station that serves fossil fool while I just plug in overnight, it takes me 5 seconds, way faster than going to a forecourt.
What’s stopping the laggard truck companies? The government has just extended the £25000 grant for plug in lorries until 2026 & unlike some clowns on here believe no electric lorries available, Is that what Farage tells you or the conspiracy theorist people

Nah I don’t particularly believe that there are non available…on the contrary in fact…nobody wants them.
I just believe there is a thankful lack of gullibility to what they want us to believe.
And that in reality nobody in their right mind would want to run a less efficient, and less reliable impractical product.
And why do you think they are handing out grants exactly?..goodness of their hearts?
Nah once the trap is closed and if everybody is saddled with them, then the concessions and incentives stop and the re.couping of revenue starts.
