Then progressed to E3 BMW 3.0si together with Granada 2.8i estate used as a commuting and household runabout.The BMW progressed to V12 Jaguar.
The BMW was by far the most expensive to run.Also way more expensive to run than friends who ran American V8 and Brit former 6 cylinder, converted to V8, cars like Crestas and Zodiacs.
The household runabout eventually became a Zafira 1.8 and now a VW 150 Touran.Your point being what.A Tesla EV wonāt do the job of the Touran.
The XJ12 isnāt off the road because Iād rather replace it with a zb whining Tesla let alone a Chinese piece of electric junk.
Recommission the XJ v buy a Holden VXR8 is/would be a different choice.Obviously now both orphans with no factory parts back up.

Nowhere did I say an electric vehicle could replace a V8, however itās quite possible in your country, if you are not towing.
Why do you need a V8? You donāt, as you stated a sub 2 litre Opal/Vauxhall/Holden Zafira was a far more sensible and practical choice.
I actually āneedā the V12 let alone a V8 āfor the job itās intended forā IE long distance European touring from unlimited autobahns to the best alpine passes.
Mercedes and BMW obviously agreed with me both offering V8 and V12 options up to 6 and 7 litre + in the case of Mercedes.
I also like the driving qualities of a nice 6 cylinder engine obviously in view of spending more on the BMW while being laughed at, with some justification, by big V8 owning acquaintances and peers.
By that standard I preferred the 2.8i Granada to the Touran but the Touran is the better more practical all round car in a world of Ā£1.40 per litre fuel prices.
Also it pains me to say it the thing can put up a very respectable show on the autobahn unbelievably so for its size and fuel consumption.
The difference is where I could remove and replace the heads of the Granada at home in a weekend and the all iron lump was bulletproof.Whereas the Touran is just an unrepairable grenade waiting to go off and totally unviable outside of its main dealer warranty and PCP deal.
Youāll be happy ( or not ) to know that Iām thinking about a 3.0 litre 6 cylinder plug in hybrid to replace the Touran.Not because I think EVās are superior or cheaper to run than petrol.But because I think electric is probably better for short local journeys around town than the decent ICE.
The idea that āI need a decent motorā and āwe need to provide itā is what defines the automotive industry starting with the Mercedes Simplex and Rolls Royce Silver Ghost.
Bearing in mind probably no Rolls Royce aero division and no Merlin engine without the latter.

No Iām not seeing any supposed different weather patterns.
I do see lies when anyone says that we have too much CO2 in the atmosphere, even if we burnāt all of the fossil fuel resources and who says that we need nuke, bio mass and solar fuelled all electric to fix the non existent problem.
If anything the planet has a severe CO2 deficit and with it depletion of vegetation and photosynthesis which provides our Oxygen.Burning trees for fuel and covering green fields in solar panels wonāt fix that.
Burning lots of fossil fuels, to prioritise and increase and protect photosynthesis and not turn the place into an irradiated dust bowl, seems logical to me.
