Hi all.Does any one know the big chap with a huge mustache who drove a 3 series Scania on Bell line out of Teesport in the 90s?.He was a charachter and a nice guy with it.That could of been his motor in previous post on Hull docks with box on

no , he did drive for harry fearon but he didnt have any f12s , he had that roadtrain that irving had then he got a f12 on a e reg iu think it was

This is a photo of one of Irvings Volvo F12 Curtainsiders which I bought on Ebay for £1.75.

this F12 was driven by barry strick E943 YRM,E689 YRM was driven by MASTERMIND cb handle;Big Dave Joyce,E940 YRM was driven by Eddie Bosward, all volvo F12, Big dave drove the ROADTRAIN whilst it was in the fleet for 12 month.Who ever said that it was alway,s off the road is wrong,this had a 340 roller in it, a lot of the time it used to go to courtaulds in coventry for acetate for ectona fibers with irving,s own modified container,averaging 5/5.5mpg everyay.

The F88 seen in many of the photo,s SAO 81R was got new by john irving,being driven by Jimmy Mounsey,then Harry Fearon got it before being sold to Ashburner,s & then last i heard it was sitting at Slinger,s of bentham with i think engine fault & usual cab rotten. Havn,t been on for a while Irvings fleet when i worked for them was 8 Tankers & i think about10 on general haulage. :laughing: :laughing:

I only met Dave Joyce once (maybe twice) at Forton services I must say that he was an incredible nice man, he lived in Silloth, he drove H & ME Fearon’s only Volvo F10. He was held in very high regard by the owner of H & ME Fearon,

Yes they did run Commers in Smiths of Whitehavens livery.

Most of the H & ME Fearon photos were taken by an offical photographer and paid for by H & ME Fearon I was surprised to see them posted on Facebook! I was given some of the originals, now I suppose they technically belong to Tyson H Burridge Ltd.

I do not know anything about the John Irving photos though!
