US exports to EU are subject to higher tariffs than EU exports to US.
Both the goods and the tariff are also subject to VAT which is higher than US state purchase taxes.
Why not just recognise EU or US type approval as being good enough like NZ does ?.
Whatever Clinton did or did not call for, she got more votes than Trump in 2016.
So to return to the point who is Trump to talk about “mandates” ?
Countries are, and IMO rightly, able to set their own taxes. Trump is not, and should not, be able to dictate another country’s fiscal choices.
So you are happy that the EU decides the standards for UK consumers?
(Although we now have no say in them, although we did previously)
Interesting POV.
So you would feel the same way about the system if YOU got the result that YOU wanted (for a change ) …I think not.
To go back to my old mantra …you can only play with the cards you are dealt, so make the best of your hand…
And to add for your benefit, stop bleating like Billy the goat when you don’t get your own way.
Anymore of it and I will summon him for an appearance…
You have been warned.
the last time we had a truly democratic vote was 23rd june 2016. even the general election isnt that democratic. hence why or otherwise you can end up with parties that get more votes than others but less seats.
I dont know what the soloution is really it wouldnt work if you said party x had 20% of the votes so they get 20 votes on any matters because how do you divide that between the representatives.
Yep I agree the system is not ideal, you do not get a proper indication of how people feel…proportional representation would be a far better option… although the bleating leftys would start crying cos Farage (my hero )would get in.
Mate…How can I put this, I aint an armchair and wannabe politician like yourself.
I aint going to pretend I’m an authority on this kind off stuff,.I aint …and that is your dept.
I do not fully understand (nor are interested) in the intricacies of all this stuff…I freely admit that.
If the system is in place in a democratic context in a democratic society, as I said …it is what it is, ref playing cards etc.
So in the grand scheme of things, and bearing in mind my last statement, it does not matter a flying ■■■■ what I (or indeed you) think about it…
Ok?
Only Fascist boys rubbish cyberturds, A vehicle costing between $80-$100k with badly glued on panels is ridiculous to say the least, The front panel isn’t the only panel that falls off the heap.
The repair by Tesla is just as hilarious, with weld burns showing through the SS front panel & a panel gap I could put my finger in. I can’t find the picture again.
So answer the chuffing question! Is a system where a candidate with fewer votes beats a candidate with more votes democratic?
Or if you really don’t know, nor care, we can let you get off the the Fox And Grapes.
NZ isn’t and never has been an EU member bound by EU rules.
It ‘recognises’ and accepts BOTH EU AND US type approval for import purposes.‘Recognition’ of different standards obviously by definition isn’t the same thing as being ‘bound’ by either.Just like here before 1973.We had British standards and we also recognised EEC and US standards for import purposes.
Why would I recognise the vote for a Communist who by definition intended to replace US government and sovereignty by a foreign, obviously Chinese dominated, government and power ?.
She and all those involved in the world government activist pressure group should have been arrested for treason under US law.Not allowed to stand for election.
Which makes her US election vote count moot.
Wtf is up with you today…got yer tampon in a twist or what?
I have answered ‘The chuffing question’’
If the political system is set out that way, whether you or I think it is ‘‘fair’’ or not is irrelavant, as it is what it is…how many more times?
Also…
1.When did fairness ever apply to politics and politicians.
2.I have already stated that proportional representation would be a far better system.
So shove yer fox AND your grapes right up your arse…
Speaking of pubs, …
As I have said before to you many times on here,.you should try using my criteria on here on what I will or will not post to people…
ie.. Don’t say stuff to people (of whom you know nothing about) if you would not be prepared (or dare) to say it to them in …yeah…The Fox and Grapes, or any other establishment.
It’s a criteria designed to not make you look like what you are…a complete gob sh with no back up or substance…behind your keyboard…
My question is whether or not you think that the way it is set up is indeed democratic, or not.
Saying “it is, what is” is not offering up your opinion.
Discussing what you and I think is the whole point of a forum.
Nobody here says it does apply.
Since this is the Trump thread, and since we were discussing that Trump received fewer votes than Clinton in 2016, (ie he received a lower proportion of the vote) would you then think that the US system is, or is not democratic?
Jeez man…Wtf do you want me to say?
What point are you trying to prove here?
My final answer is this…although I don’t know why tf I am indulging you…
From the very little I know of the lay out of the US political system…
If the format is under the heading of a bonafide democratic system…ie THEIR democratic system in the form that THEY set out in THEIR rules in THEIR own country…then Yes it is a form of Democracy.in it’s very definition.
Maybe not an ideal one, maybe not an agreeable one, and yeah maybe not a fair one, but essentially their version of a democratic system.
Now…
I have no doubt fell into your childish point scoring trap, so go for it, let me hear what you have steeed me towards, and what you are dying to say to me in the form of a put down
I can hardly wait.
