Trump has ordered changes to the military and contractors conditions.
Contractors will among other things, no longer be required to avoid segregation, and provide equal opportunities.
So discrimination and segregation will be allowed.

Crikey guv, another side to you we see. History was as boring as ■■■■ in my school, even I didn’t like it or study beyond the 3rd year (pre-decimal notation equivalent to ■■■■ knows what in modern terminology)
We were mostly ‘encouraged’ towards the technical side, an expectant army of fitters, technicians, engineers and grafters for the then ship, coal and allied industries. Only for maggie ■■■■■■■ thatcher (wow 3rd bleep already I’m doing ace) to decimate (technically wipe out not reduce by 10%) the working class occupations. May she burn in hell forever.
Anyway, forgot the argument now.
There is no satisfactory solution to this, other than the Israeli secret service doing what they are technically capable of, and assassinating putin. I have every confidence that if putin was killed, the rest of Russia would have a “emperor’s got no kegs on” moment, it would be like sleeping beauty waking up, they’d suddenly have the scales lifted from their eyes and realise what a terrible person putin really was. Why? because he terrorised them into compliance. His lieutenants meanwhile scuffle each other fighting over the platinum executive’s washroom card. The last thing any of them (except perhaps some truly stupid loony tunes captain of some sub somewhere) would be to start flinging nukes this direction.
But it suits Israel’s present purposes for this east - west conflict. We’d pay them and the middle east more close scrutiny if our hands were free. So, next option, we roll over and let putin take Ukraine. Yadda yadda yadda. He gets a ceasefire now, keeps his gains. Rebuilds his military strength because, wait for it…
We could hardly justify maintaining the sanctions against him now, if we had just agreed to “end the war” So he gets the much needed cash flow back, his people get a pause to train more soldiers and repair the broken ones.
And, and other countries which were umming and ahhing about doing any deals with Russia because of the conflict and how it would look on them to pally up, would now feel free to make those deals. Putin has been awfully busy trying to engage with various African countries, countries that might have some strategic resources needed for later…
By the start of next year (because the russians are so predictable with their movements) putin would then restart the war in what was left of sovereign Ukraine, and having both rebuilt his resources, and possibly yes even him, learned a few new tactics to ensure a more successful Blitzkrieg effect this time, he’d try and steamroll right across Ukraine and then liberate land from those ‘fascists’ in Poland etc. Result: a much greater loss of life, and much greater effort needed to stop the war properly.
Third option: nuke Russia. OK, not too great an idea, or as Mainwaring would say “You stupid boy” as at the very least the fallout would literally fall on us here.
Fourth option: Well? what alternative is there guys? I can’t see any except for us to bear down and expel that abortion of a numbskull. We let ourselves down over the last 40 years, defunded our armies, halved our numbers. Swapped our brenguns for conkers then forgot any string. Because it will take 2 years to build up adequate numbers and supplies, we need a supportive active partner in the US, not a p(r)etty orange narcissist eyeing up a nobel prize as the world’s biggest plonker. While Russia is still weak, we need to press home the attack and hope his generals say un oeuf, I mean enough, and depose putin down the lavatory for good.
Firstly my history course at school was ‘Modern History’ my interest was anything after about 1900, I aint into Roman times or anything like that.
I continue my interest today in fact, mostly in WW1 and WW2, and have visited many sites, battlefields,.and war cemetries of all sides, all over Europe.

Yep a Putin assassination from a non Nato country source to avoid it being considered an act of war would be no bad thing.
It has been said often about a peace truce being only temporary, but as I said that could be said about any ceasefire, some last longer than others, but surely a ceasefire with a view to a treaty, …if only to stop the killing has got to be a better option.
Maybe if the US has an interest thereafter in their debt paying excercise extracting these minerals whilst being heavily staffed by American personell, it will make Putin think twice…
Naive maybe, …but I know as much as anyone else,.and that opinion was actually stated on the radio the other day by some American expert or another, who seemed to know more about what he was talking about than anyone on here.
I get the impression Trump is severely ■■■■■■ with Zelensky, but I hope he has something up his sleeve that he is keeping to himself for the moment to make peace work,.after he instigated it in the first place.

Before the usual verbal barrage breaks out, I do not care about Trump or Zelensky, I just hope for the best outcome for the Ukranian people, and their families, especially the ones I have got to know of locally who are refugees here.

Fair point, if there were loads of US personnel on site, and if any minerals sites were in live zones.
In many mining operations local (cheaper) labour is used. Some overseers are US, but small numbers can be extracted without too much issue.
Modern warfare involves (should) very targeted objectives.
Easy enough for military to bomb and take out military and tactical (power, gov) targets, but avoid mines etc. Instead of sending ore to refineries in the West the US would send ores to refineries to the East. Business as usual for US companies.

Nobody, but it’s what’s driving Trumps desire. He hates the fact that Obama got it, effectively for just getting elected and doing his job. We have a situation where one man’s vanity is throwing a nation to the wolves whilst masquerading as the “peace maker”. If he does get the award (and I hope to God that the committee that chooses can see through him) he will lose all interest in the area and NATO will suffer. On the flip side of the coin I do worry about how he will react if he doesn’t get it. Talk about being between the devil and the deep blue sea.
