I think that Trump will tell Putin to back off for the short term. Trump gets his Nobel prize and sees out his presidency. After that Putin (or his successor) gets free rein to do whatever he wants with Ukraine. Trump then blames this on the new guy or woman - if he had still been in power it would never have happened etc, etc.
Like it or hate it the inalienable fact is that since Trumps tenure started we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel for this costly and horrible war.
We’ve had years of the EU annd America simply throwing weapons and money at it whilst the death tolls rise. Finally it appears that this has a tenuous end date. Will all sides be happy? Of course not, t’was ever thus I’m afraid. It’s impossible to please everyone, but at least the body count will hopefully stop rising. Anybody who doesn’t want to see that has quite frankly never witnessed the true horror of war.
I don’t GAF what Trumps motives are when weighed against maimed and killed people whether Ukranians, Russians or bloody Martians to be honest.

It’s just the fact that the haters…well yeah, ‘hate’ to see any positivity in all this, but instead actively look for negatives,…and yeah they are there, but lets concentrate on the positive side for now as you say.
Nobody is daft enough to believe that Trump started this peace move out of the goodness of his heart, and of course he wants a bite of the cherry to re.coup the billions put into maintaining this pointless war, irrespective of who started it.
Fact is Zelensky does not want peace, but is happy to fight to the last US dollar, Euro or pound given to him, which is all well and good, but where does it stop and as you say how many more lives will be lost.
And now Butros Butros Starmer is wanting to send in British troops, when we cant really afford it anyway.
Yeah Putin may kick off again in 2 3 years, but that is always going to happen anyway, the guy is a mad meglomaniac, who always gets his own way, so lets look at peace now and cross the next bridge if/when it does kick off.
As I said before if Trump found a cure for cancer, some of the clowns on here would actively look for a negative even in that.
I would love to see this being a success just to watch them seethe with anger and frustration even more.

It aint an ideal situation nobody says it is, it’s the old adage of playing with the hand of cards you are dealt…the good ones left in the pack aint an option.
Trump has stopped arming and funding Ukraine, that is his prerogative whether YOU like it or not…so that particular card aint in play anymore
Just because something does not come from a written official source does not say it is not a fact…
Ok let’s say it’s an educated assumption based on what I see and hear on the news.
He does not APPEAR to want peace if that satisfies you better…,
He wants to fight on with no money of his own, few weapons of his own, and a dwindling depleted army…and not pay back what he has been provided with so far thus.
So what next then…General Starmer sends in the troops to get our army further decimated to what it is now?
It may well be a 'pause, but you could say that about the last 80 years since WW2 finished.
That is how the world is, perpetually potentially volatile.
Giving in you say…no try for some sort of peace, as what Trump is doing.
LookI have no intention of doing a 5 page argument with you on this, my intention is to sit back,.(seeing as I aint a politician,) and see what happens, instead of gobbing off and looking for faults BEFORE it has had a chance to get off the ground…ie WAIT AND SEE.

What I don’t understand is how Europe is still so much of a minority in the world, with 30 countries 450 million people and their running for their life from a country with i50 million
The nuclear means nothing if you have 30 countries coming from every angle into wiping you off the planet

If you’re not apologising for Trump why do you keep batting for him. Do you seriously think that Putin is going to adhere to whatever botched up “peace agreement” Trump conjures up? Trump wants a Nobel so that he can lord it over people, he doesn’t give a hoot about the carnage he’ll leave behind. As I said, I think he’ll do a deal that makes him look like the peacemaker whilst allowing Putin to re-arm. We have 4 years to sort our defences out (if we’ve got the stomach for a fight), time enough to rid ourselves of the Yankee yoke. And when they are facing China in the Taiwan Straits we can sit back and watch them getting their dinner handed to them. Even then, there will still be stupid hillbillies yanking their chains for Trump and the “good old days”.
Putin is a problem but Trump is a bigger one.
It like the experts here know what the agreement is when the man and country who it applies to hasn’t got a clue

Putain is importing soldiers from N Korea. He is also according to some having serious supply issues.
No one is saying that we the UK “goes in” as you put in. No one says put UK or other European, or any other troops, on the front line.

As it stands, both the Ukrainians and the Russians are on their uppers.
It should be the choice of Ukraine which way to go: so long as they want to have an active fight, we should support them.

They are a disaster when it comes to war, the best war they ever won was killing themselves in their own country

heres the thing zelinsky doesnt want peace he signed a peace deal with trump… then went back on it when he thought he could get a better one with starmer and europe. Now that is off the table he has gone crawling back to trump.
numerous political figures have tried over the last few years to deal with the situation but he hasnt taken any of them up because he wants the war to carry on.
The bloke is a spoilt child that is throwing his teddy out the pram because he cant get his own way. Maybe just maybe he should of thought of all that before he started ostersising russian jews rather crying that he is being picked on.
