Busy Mr Trump

Absolutely…and so they should, it was a gross insult if meant.

But seems he’s ‘reneged’ …(.oh Jesus I should not have said that Franglais is hanging on my every word armed with a dictionary.:face_with_tears_of_joy: ) on that statement.

He was told to leave the WH. Zelensky told to leave White House after angry spat with Trump and Vance - BBC News

So if anyone renegued, who do you think it was again?

 Ok to emulate you in your utter childishness and need to be right all the time, I will answer in the style of Franglais.

He still ‘walked’ after being told to leave.

:face_with_tears_of_joy::face_with_tears_of_joy:

Not exactly renaged, more like adding insult to injury.

In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Mr Vance said:
'This is absurdly dishonest. I don’t even mention the UK or France in the clip" and then tries to wriggle out of it by adding: "both of whom have fought bravely alongside the US over the last 20 years, and beyond.

So I’ve got a personal message for this disgusting pos vance: " “DIE TODAY”

Wow ! …ok

So why is that

Zelensky was asked to leave. He did not “walk out” in protest or any such.

So who chose not to continue with the peace talks?
The one told to leave? Or the the one telling him to go?

Oh ffs seriously?
Do you NEVER give up?:face_with_tears_of_joy::slightly_smiling_face:

Are you single with no friends btw…just asking.

My final answer Jeremy…
ya ready?

WHO TF CARES?

Unreal.:face_with_tears_of_joy:

Since you originally posted, suggesting that Zelensky was walking away from peace talks, you obviously care enough to point it out.
But since the actual facts do not fit the narrative you are promoting, I guess you are off to the “Fox and Grapes” again.

Just to try and draw a line under this…some hope…

Now I am sure that you will award yourself loads of points for being a very superior person to me. So, take all the points you like, and stick to the thread topic in future.

Oh dear I’ve upset her again.
And I’ve been chastised by Franglais
Watch those pearls that string must be getting a bit strained now with all that clutching.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Fyi… I had drew a line under it mate over the weekend,.as I thought you had.
I thought we’d cleared the air.

But your usual pomposity, patronising and conceit reared it’s ugly head as usual, which unfortunately is a trigger for me and prompts me to go all out to p you off (usually and evidently succesfully :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:)

I cant help it, it’s what I do, I retaliate when crossed…so tell yer granny to give me a shout when shes being mugged, she’s safe :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: :face_with_tears_of_joy:

Please explain to Governor Trudeau, of Canada, that when he puts on a Retaliatory Tariff on the U.S., our Reciprocal Tariff will immediately increase by a like amount

Oh well…I wanna kick you, but if you kick me that is a foul !

Anyway here is Trudeau talking today about tariffs.
IMHO a reasoned approach, not a rant, nor meme, nor a twit.

That’s some news conference, they will definitely be paying 50% by the end of week according to trump’s words

this is hysterical old Trudeau sells over C$762 billion of goods to the us. The us is their biggest export market so he is going to put a tariff on it in the same old childish style of you kicked me so ill kick you back but like most children do he has succeeded in cutting off his nose to spite his face.

During his election campaign Trump spoke a lot about high tariffs on China especially.
Last week it was proposed 10% tariffs on Canada, Mexico, etc, and 25%v on China.
Now it is 25% on Canada and Mexico and 10% on China.

So…US businesses will be paying 25% extra for raw materials from Canada.
Canada a producer of rare earths (just an aside as that is current) needed by US technology firms.
Canada and Mexico both export oils to the US. 25% extra.
US exports to Ca and Mex will have tariffs on them so US exports will drop.

The US will pay more for imports, and sell less abroad.

Has Trump been taking lessons from Prof Patrick Minford or Liz Truss? The stock markets have fallen. Not a crash of TRussian size, but still nasty.

I suspect that anyone praising Truss’s budget, will praise Trump’s tariffs.

the trouble is us public get told one narrative and can never be sure of the truth. Lets hope our own troops arent sent into the Ukraine . Heres a little russian story of my own i had been on holiday in lithuania with friends who worked here in the UK when i met a russian woman who was working in lithu one thing led to another i got a visa to russia flew to moscow got a train to her city it was a 32 hour train ride! pretty much nonstop and i had a week there im not a drinker but boy they are .At a BBQ i was spotted throwing my vodka away now they didnt like that one bit.Anyhow after i got back home here i heard the local police had come to get me only id already left ,to see if i was a spy .One morning id been bored and went for a walk up by local heliport someone had seen me took my photo and the hunt was on!You wouldnt think it was obvious i look British but seems i do!

Remember a 50% means that the US pays 50% more for goods it buys.
In the long term that might mean US produces more goods locally. But by the end of the week raw materials oil and gas will be more expensive in the US pushing up the prices for all households and making US exports dearer and so cutting them.

A spiral of decline.

He put China up to 20% it won’t be a big deal for them
I think his logic or methods or thinking is that he will get the company’s outside the usa that imports into the usa to build factorys in the usa so no tariffs, or something like that

How long will it take for new factories to be built in the US?
Project them, plan them, build them, Will Trump still be in office? It will be years before they make jobs in production industry.
To build the factories? Who does that? I believe that lots of Mexican immigrants are used in building work…'nuff said there.

And the US imports oil and energy and raw materials from Canada to power and supply their own factories already.
Tariffs make all of that more expensive…for US companies.

Tariffs can be useful in some circumstances but are a crude tool.
Like using a sledgehammer to do a vasectomy it’s gonna hurt.

Rachel Maddow is a US journalist and author. A couple of years ago she researched a story on a 1940 US Senator, Ernest Lundeen.
Although Pres F D Roosevelt wanted to support GB in our time oi need not all the US was of a similar mind. Lundeen especially.

She tells the story here, and points to parallels in todays world.
