Busy Mr Trump

dunno take it up with roosevelt churchill starlin etc etc they were the ones that made it. Maybe its something to do with these pesky europeans trying to invade russia every few decades.

Nice image, but when has President Zelenskyy met Putin in person since the start of the Russian Invasion?

Since Putin sent special forces to try to capture him and TV news in Feb/ March 2022 showed Zelenskyy in underground bunkers Do you really believe that there has been a meeting?

Or did that image come from this occasion in 2019?

Putain will not be stood still. He will rob his countrymen blind to build arms. He is not restricted by democratic elections.
economy is not in good shape after years of restriction. Why give him breathing space now so we do it all again in a few years time? If Trump’s treaty was self serving and strong that might be price worth paying, but he is asking to take from Ukraine with no guarantees of defence in return.
“Sign here mate, no need to write anything down. You can trust me.”

Like the predictable consequences of Russia invading Ukraine?
“It’ll all be over in 3 days”
Russia is a powerful country, but their army is at a standstill after 3 years, not 3 days.

That granny getting mugged on the street? You owe her nothing.

When the Crimean forces occupied Russia in 2014?14”]
I dont think putin has plans as far as europe. i think he is just trying to secure his borders with a buffer zone. as was agreed after ww2.
[/quote]

There was an agreement in 1945.
There was also an agreement to give Ukraine independence in 1991.
And another agreement to protect Ukraine from Russian aggression if she gave up her nuclear arms.

New agreements supersede older ones. After all we no longer are bound to sent tribute to Rome.

The Crimean forces occupying Russia in 2014?
When the Georgians invaded Russia in 2003?
When Czechoslovakia invaded Russia in 1968?
When Hungary sent tanks into Russia in 1956?
When Poland occupied Russia in 1939?

Ok I bow to your vast and superior political knowledge…so what do I know anyway eh?

You keep bringing up defending the mugged on the street.:face_with_hand_over_mouth:
What I (probably) do know is you have never ever done anything like that, or ever would…so why keep bringing it up as if you are also an authority on that?

I do not claim to be any authority on such. Just an average human being who has a conscience, and likes to think I can tell the difference between right and wrong.

I can also tell the difference betwen right and wrong, I have stated many times that in this case I know Trumps motives aint selfless and could be quite dubious in terms of fairness and morality…but STILL you chose to argue with me to appear to be superior.

I also know when it is prudent to know that you are going to get beat, …so best to play for time and wait until you are in a position to actually win, rather than face inevitable defeat by storming in.

Thing is mate I actually HAVE been in minor ‘stepping in’ scenarios, which YOU keep mentioning as if you lnow what you are talking about.
Like jumping to the defence of a woman, but resulting in having the bloke AND that woman start on ME in the end.and me coming off worse because of it…so dont tell me what I should and should not be doing.
So exoerience (not hearsay) has told me 'Do not start something you are going to ‘come a cropper’ because of your own actions.
As a metaphor and an analogy of THIS much more serious scenario .

How is letting a currently weakened Russia regroup giving us any advantage?
Many/most commentators say Putain is in a bad way at the moment.

All that stuff about “poking the bear” has proved to be bollox. The predicted over-run of Ukraine in days was bollox.
Why repeat it now after years of Russian losses? They are using at least 10,000 N Korean troops.
Don’t believe the Kremlin propaganda. The facts of the matter prove that Russia have not beaten Ukraine after 3 years is evidence they are not the supermen they have pretended to be.

nope nor do i think that putin would have a map of ukraine and the ukraine flag in the corner of his office. What i do think is that it was a video conference with him addressing putin as i said.

I dont readily believe ANY propaganda from anybody mate…how many more times.

As Trump said without superior weapons sent over frim the US, with vast funding the war would have been lost in 2 weeks.

So come on …and I may regret this🙄
Do you think it is a feasible idea for an alliance of mixed European troops to join Ukraine in a fight.

What do you think the outcome will be.

Are you happy to see lads of my son’s ages to be flown back in to Brize Norton dead, as in the Gulf War.

If the US were involved. it would be a sure fire deterrent, not so much do I think that Putin is afraid of the French and the Italians as much.

um heard of nepolean… heard of hitler… the crimean war… ww1 … i can go back further than nepolean if you want… but as i said there has been someone trying to invade russia every few decades,

Yes. That is definitely the best option.
But will that happen? Can we trust Trump to back up Ukraine?
Or more to the point will Putain believe that Trump will back up Ukraine?

But it is not for us to choose that Trump gives wholehearted support. We cannot expect that, so must plan for alternatives.

We have a choice to try to stop Putain:
Earlier, on Ukraine soil,
Or later, after he gains strength as Trump does away with the sanctions that are harming Piutain, and nearer our shores.

Appeasing Putain will not work. Rolling over will not work.

Right you state the obvious which I have covered…
Trump could be or is out of the picture.
So aftrer reading that cagey non commital answer,.I am still asking. …
Are you in favour of our troops with others ‘going in’?

And before Napoleon, wasn’t it Ugg the caveman who was the aggressor?

Russia has been invaded in the past it is true.
So has the UK. That does not give us the right to annex France to make a buffer zone.
If every country that was invaded or attacked in the past took land as a buffer zone where would be safe?

Putain is looking for excuses to justify his imperialist land grab. He ain’t fooling the majority of us.

I am very much in favour of UK troops doing what Starmer has suggested. Being part of an international peace keeping force.

Just to be clear: Not sending them to the front line tomorrow to attack Russian forces.

as i said greater men than you and i agreed this not me or you

Ok fair enough.
I just do not want that ‘peace keeping’ role to escalate if/when Putin gets itchy feet.
Then our troops find themselves on the front line.

I know a few young forces lads, and many vets,.and I know they will be fully up for it with enthusiasm if it kicks off, it is part of what makes them so good at their jobs…but that does not make it an ideal situation.

Neither would I. Of course not.
The best way to deter him is to firm, and to do that ASAP.

“give 'em an inch and they’ll take a mile is very apt”

It is a delicate situation, and sitting back will make Putain think we are a pushover. That already happened in Crimea and if it happens again…and again…

It is a risky strategy, but there are no good safe choices left.

Yeah well way I see it is this .
Starmer is going to send in troops to keep peace, Putin will not recognise that situation and all hell will break loose…hope I’m wrong.

Anyhoo more important things prevail, a match starting and a pint and pizza ordered
I’m gone.

Enjoy!
