However, earlier on Trump “lent” on Zelinsky to provide evidence against Biden’s son.

People in Europe at the moment as we speak are still backing Ukraine according to the press
The outcome who knows but even with the uk outside the eu they would have to get involved
There is a lot of leaders going around with their tails between their legs at the moment bowing down before king trump like starmer with a letter from a nobody to come to the uk and the fool on tv expressed it was a privilege to accept it because he craves attention and recognition like a child

Way I’m reading this trump wants minerals and mining in Ukraine.
Which is more than likely what Russia wanted when they started in invaade they were probably hoping to mine the country dry and make a fortune.
Obviously Ukraine doesn’t want to just hand it over to America for no reason and who can blame him
Putin and trump both want to mine the country.

i personally think its a little more complicated than that. The minerals are almost a side line but make a good excuse.
America wants to control the area for their pipe line and cant use terrorism as an excuse this time. Putin is fed up with the un and nato breaking the agreements and the undemocratic spread of europe.

If Putin decides to carry on now that talks with Trump have broken down…which he will, the US is no longer in the picture with money aid and weapons.
Is Starmer mad enough to take his ‘With Ukraine all the way’ routine to the extreme by putting our troops in there along with other Euro forces.
How long will that go on for, how many years? how many Brit soldiers will be killed ?,
Do we really want an all out European war with Russia.?
Zelensky will not care, he is alteady at war, so nothing to lose and everything to gain by Europe stepping in frrom his pov.
I teally hope common sense prevails and talks resume,.and Europe makes it clear there are no ‘boots on the ground’ in combat scenarios coming off anytime soon.

Do you understand what the BAOR was all about?
Why were so many British troops stationed in Germany during the cold war?
It was because of a real threat from an expansionist USSR.
They were as s deterrent to show the USSR that entering the West was not easy. To stop an invasion before it started.
Same with any plan to send UK and other troops to Ukraine. Not to force Putain back, that is not the idea. But to stop all the salami slicing as Putain lops off bits of countries, rest and repeat, rest and repeat.
It will cost less in lives and in money to stop Putain earlier rather than later. (yes, late enough already)
To stop him when he passes Ukraine and arrives in Poland, will cost more in ammo and human suffering than to stop him where he is.
Using money to arm forces as a deterrent is also far cheaper than to actually fire the rockets.
Taking a pragmatic view I don’t see any way out of this for Ukraine. Trump has sold them out and Europe won’t have the stomach for a battle with Russia. Trump and his acolytes believe that the USA does not need anyone else to survive and prosper. They see the world as a route to sell their goods but want to import very little. The digital world is almost fully controlled by US company’s. I fully expect Trump to withdraw from NATO within a short period of time and Europe does not have enough nuclear weapons on its own to prevent Putin from launching an attack next on Latvia or Estonia (other NATO countries are available). We’re seeing the emergence of a new world order here. China has already replaced Russia as the USA’s enemy but there is no love lost between Russia and China so you can expect Russia to side with the USA on any contentious issues. I also expect that Trump will quietly allow China to absorb Taiwan into its territory and turn his back on South Korea. Strangely enough he will continue to support Israel - I wonder why?
