I had to turn off Channel 4 News this evening, and I never normally miss that, simply could not stand the simpering toadying to Trump and when Starmer produced that letter from the king I nearly threw up.
i get what you mean the simpering idiot just looks even more stupid patting trump on the shoulder like they are besties
What was the letter from Charlie?
When my youngest brought a Scots lad round for the first time, I just happened to have Gazza’s Euro 96 goal on the tv on a loop in the background…just to mark his card.
If I had been Trump I would have done the same with Starmer’s insults that he did pre election, to watch him squirm.
Seriously though screwing on my ‘grown up’s’ head on for a minute…The way I see it is this…
I hate Starmer for what him and his have done to us and our country.
That said…I am not shallow and childish enough to make hatred rule my head over everything else,.and cloud my judgement…(unlike some on here. )
A continuation of a good relationship with the US is paramount,.and can only do the country I love good.
Yeah diplomacy has always been about mutual kissing arse all through history, that is how is it works unfortunately…
Is it not better than Starmer repeating every thing said on those vids to Trump’s perma tanned boat race, and totally alienating him?..but more importantly alienating the US in the present volatile climate?
Sutely not
To separate the idiots amongst you haters for a minute .at least some of you are astute enough and switched on to see that, … however reluctant you are to admit it…
(Btw… .only the astute need to respond to that,.I can guess the idiot’s amongst you response…one of you preferred a world recession over Trump’s success ffs , which kinda says it all. )
Good old Rob…always out to make friends on Trucknet eh? )
So to sum up I hate Starmer, I hate his party, but he is out there representing my country, so I hope Trump despite his over inflated ego treats him with respect as our leader, and they achieve the basis for a future good working relationship.
Starmer may well be as you say a ‘Simpering Idiot’, but he is OUR ‘Simpering Idiot’ and I hope he is treated with respect and does some good and benefit for my country,.which in the long run will only make our lives better and our country more succesful, .despite the inept left wing govt we have to endure fir 4 more years befire being inevitably kicked out.
yes inviting him on a state visit
Here is the way i look at it. Starmer is entitled to his opinions just the same as anyone else. However he is in politics and should of kept his opinions to himself not stood at the podium spouting off. We disagree on the importance of america in some ways. I see them as a needed evil due to thatcher and blair. However im not stupid enough to be in starmers position and slag them off as a country on the world stage regardless of who the president is. Then to sit there with a stupid simpering grin on his boat patting him on the shoulder like trump was a child that needed consoling is disgusting and speaks volumes about starmers personality.
If it was any other situation other than politics starmer would of come away with a bloody nose.
Well. as you point out “he is in politics” so “standing at the podium spouting off” is pretty much the job description!
Either that, or it a description of Trump’s personality and how he should be interacted with.
When he was ‘spouting’ off it was at the time when everybody including me…(but not including the majority of the American electorate) , thought he would not get back in…
So basically he has the opportunity to come the ‘big man’, and have the bravado to appear a bit brave. But when it came to facing up to him, not so…he is like a meek little bunny rabbit…
Hmm sounds a bit familiar tbh does that
Apart from that most of us know how politicians work… so nothing new in him being disingenuous.
As for the importance of America to us, …history verifies that .and tbh despite Trump and his dodgy demeanour and history, I would prefer to trust and be with him and the US, than the type of European corrupt shysters the like of which we had to contend with in the EU.
So between dodgy Trump and the fickle crew in Europe,.I would choose the former over the latter all day long.
The proverb is classic
A Russian journalist then says Trump has been accused of “talking to everyone but Putin from a position of force” and asks Peskov how Russia should conduct dialogue with the US.
Peskov responds by saying that Russia “wants to conduct dialogue not just with the US but with all countries from the position of mutual respect and mutual benefit”.
The reporter then says a colleague had told him it should be conducted "from the position of truth”, referring to a Russian proverb: “Everyone’s got their own truth.”
“I can’t agree with your colleague,” Peskov responds.
I expect Musk is reporting an e-mail detailing the increase in Tesla share prices.
Wow…
With the cameras and mics in front of them, Zelensky, J D Vance, and Trump had a “lively” conversation in real time at the WhiteHouse.
I daresay it will be all over the place.
Have a count how often do Vance and Trump ask for “respect” and mention old wounds about the last US election, Biden , Obama etc?
And how often peace?
Mr apprentice given his best ever televised sacking ever
Looks like there will be no signature today
Got to admire the Ukraine man

Bullying at its best
Yeah, but Vance knew what he was talking about…he had seen it…on TV…after it had been edited by ? FoxNews? FFS!
