Wow another speech…
You should be wearing a cape man…
‘Franglais the Moral Defender’ .
Ok I take on board what you say, …but me in comparison?..
I just tend to ‘accept’ things that I can do absolutely Jack sh about, and especially when it has no involvement or bearing on me directly, with a casual laid back approach.
When I say accept I do not neccesarilly mean ‘approve of’, but I can not see the point in virtually making myself ill over something I will never be able to control…especially in the world of politics and big buisness which is a million miles from basic mundane real life.
I will have an opinion, sometimes I will get maybe slightly angry other times, but on the whole I will just casually write it off as… ‘That’s Life’, pour a beer and chill.
It makes for a less stressful time and I would just make myself look foolish to others pointlessly and continuously pi55ing agsinst a very strong wind.
On the other hand if somrthing or someone affects diversely me or mine directly, I will fight tooth and nail in any context.
I prefer to use my energies on stuff I CAN do something about instead of just gobbing off for effect about what does not concern me, I prefer to put my money where said ‘gob’ actually is instead…if you get my drift.
As for the type of people you mention who ride roigh shod over others in the business world, let those ‘others’ sort it and deal with it themselves.
I am too busy loking out for me.
Yep he may be unorthodox but he gets results.
Lives saved, and he gets his money back that is owed in resources…
He goes down in history as the man who stopped the 3 year war in days, …so his already over inflated ego goes up another notch.
Winner winner chicken dinner.
Even if you hate him you gotta (secretly) admire him in a way.
The alternative…more years of pointless war, the US withdraw funding and arms, it is thrn left to people like Starmer, (god help them) so Putin eventuslly wins and gets it all.
The best of 2 evils I would reckon speaking as a non deluded realist thst is.
I’m a fan of him. Going off some of the comments on this thread I’m likely considered a thicko clown by quite a few on here Do I care…
Difference is I wouldn’t think of them that way if the poles were reversed.
Yeah I’ll stick to being a realist like yourself
I would not say I’m a fan, but I do like SOME of his maverick ‘do not gaf who I annoy or offend’ type methods…being a bit like that on a (much).smaller scale myself..
As for reactions and opinions of you to some on here?
If I offend a certain ‘type’ …the woke, the pc hand wringers for instance my opinion is vindicated I reckon
.
Nah…not fussed on their opinion of me, unless they become ott offensive that is
I do on here what I have done in real life, wind gob shines up, they aint all gob sh btw, just 1 or 2 …(or 3 with me ) to the point they have a go at me in order to ‘put em down’
I quite like being disliked if I’m honest.
To go a step further imagine Trump going out to ‘Smash the gangs’ and sort the problem of illegals who are continuously taking the pi55 out of our country.
This guy does not f.about.
A week would you reckon?
Food for thought or what?
yes it sounds very familiar. lets go back over the last 9 months…
aka the far right.
yep we are censored and cant speak our minds for fear of jail. Many of his followers would ban house on the prairie, huckelberry finn and to kill a mocking bird. To give a personal example. Someone i know was telling me they thought they were loosing their hearing me being the immature git i am started mouthing at her soundlessly. she complained to the office and they called me up and told me i was gas lighting her and abusing her.
enough said.
there is an argument that starmer is the 1941 version as if you dont agree with his policy your labeled far right and thrown in jail.
@md1987 do you not remember how anyone that wanted brexit was called stupid and racist etc etc. yesterday the same people were calling those that liked trumps policies stupid etc i guess some dont learn.
@franglais you say you are against picking on the weak and exploitation of others. You have said in the past that you were a driver for most of your career what were you earning when you retired compared to early 2000’s. I know people that drove for supermarkets that were on about 20 pounds an hour for a sunday shift back then. when i started on the artics in 2022 thats what i was getting and it was considered an increase because it was compared to the intrum period.
how does that work… that over 20 years the wage has decreased and then increased? what happened between 2020 and 2022 could it be that a large proportion of the workers went to another country so all those companies that cried about staff shortages and claimed they couldnt afford to pay their staff more suddenly could. does that not smack of exploitation?
Yes as a scot I would like that but unfortunately Blair’s government gave Scotland devolved powers which have been totally abused by the shower of incompetents that are presently in control.
You have frequently given the impression of standing up to people who may want to take a pop at you, fiercely protective of you family and a patriot. Put yourself in a Ukranian’s shoes, appeasement is not the answer. In a bullying way Trump gets things done but it’s coming across as all take and no give. Excellent article and in particular this quote "Orwell defined patriotism as “a devotion to a particular place and a particular way of life, which one believes to be the best in the world but has no wish to force on other people. "
I heard the most powerful man in the world tell a State Governor what he wanted her to do. I heard her say that she was obeying State and Federal Laws. The POTUS is not a dictator for 4 years, in spite of what some (including Trump) think. Trump can sign Some Executive orders, but he cannot dictate everything. The US Constitution is quite clear.
The State Governor rightly is doing her job in obeying laws, and upholding the Constitution.
Trump is not the USA.
His whims are not law.
I reckon that Janet Mills deserves credit for standing up to be counted.
She was the one who first said “See you in court”. I reckon that like many of his business and his criminal cases Trump will lose.
