Im not American so it doesn’t really concern me, nor does it affect me on a day to day basis in life. I just find it amusing watching people like you get so worked up over it.
the bottom line is trump has seen the damage done to england and a few other countries by the eu. so he is putting a stop to it before the same thing happens to the us.
Interesting. You have an issue when it comes to Musk being “unelected” but are in full support of being governed by the “unelected” dictators in Brussels!
I have and all I find is links to YT, Twits, and T-T, none of which mention him being an economist.
So come on, you are asserting he is an economist…why?
If it is that obvious it must be simpler and quicker than you repeatedly telling me to do it!
Has Lord Ali any position in government? Has he access to UK gov funds? Has ne a place on the Cabinet? Has he oversight of any investigating bodies?
The answer to all the above is NO.
And even if the answer was yes, that would make no difference at all to Musk being an unelected person with much more power than he should have.
Agree. Shame all the rage and hate on here couldn’t be directed at what’s currently happening here in the UK.
Because the “unelected dictators” in Brussels are not “unelected dictators”.
How did you feel about the UK withdrawal agreement being negotiated by a never elected Cabinet Minister, Lord Frost?
All legal under UK law, but really chuffing funny!
im repeatedly telling you to google because when i suggested someone that is better at posting videos than me find it you “attacked” me the point i was making was that no doubt that there is probably some lefty video discrediting him and you and a few others would drive great pleasure from it. Others got my meaning you didnt,
As you cant as i looked for it you have reverted to type of attacking the source.
But they are still “unelected” and you support that?
Didn’t really give a flying hoot.
So, is it the £300 billion I mentioned or is it the much lower figure that you stated?
You said this guy was an economist.
Why?
Where is the proof or evidence or even a little hint of that?
I am asking for your proof, or some evidence to support your assertion.
If you think that is a personal “attack” then report my post to admin.
If you want to put up posts that are not challenged than go to one of the many echo chambers available to you.
If you don’t like taking part in a to’n’fro discussion then do not take part in it.
It’s both !
Edit.
About £300bn in total trade.
Which includes goods and services, and counts both imports and exports.
The Trump tariffs are applicable only to UK to US goods. About £60bn
yes he had the keys to no 10 and sat in on cabinet meetings.
quick example for you as its the first that came up on google…
who voted for lord thomposon??
he has enacted reforms that affect this country where you and i live…
he set up a trust and then steped down from that trust when he was put in the cabbinet however the same aims of the trust are now being acted on funny that
what laws or policeys of musk’s that he was head of have been enacted… none
i didnt think it was a personal attack or a popper once hence the quote marks as you accused me of crying about it. I saw it for what it was a pathetic effort to deflect from the point of the post because there isnt any sencible argument against it,
So why did you say this guy is an economist?
Just give the reason and we can all see what it is, make our own minds up about the logic, and move on.
That’s your opinion. Of course you are perfectly entitled to that. My opinion is that Musk, as the world’s richest man simply cannot be bought. I’m not sure if his intentions are altruistic, I suppose that eventually history will decide. But to have such an incorruptible person wielding power hopefully beneficially cant be such a bad thing surely?
If it turns out that it wasn’t beneficial then that’ll be what it is. What is apparent is that the current system is broken, perhaps someone who thinks outside of the box is what the world need? Who knows? It’s all guesswork.
A sensible reason?
Well the guy talks about the $trillion savings made by DOGE, which most think is a fantasy. He accepts Musk’s claims as accurate. Almost no-one else does.
So why believe anything else he says? He is just parroting someone else’s lies.
Got to agree wholeheartedly.
Who in their right minds actually gives a flying one about the likes of Musk and his antics abroad, when we have our own array of clowns imbeciles and p. takers running our OWN country…badly.
Answer…
Those who are trying to deflect that fact, and/or those with the same type of pathetic style of politics who more than likely voted for them.
There is not a fraction of the bile, hatred, frustration and criticism on the Political thread about our home grown clowns,.than there is on here about what goes on in the US…and certainly not as much on there as when the Tories were in office.
Yes. Just that.
There may be no-one else with more money than him, but I do not accept he cannot be bought.
He now stands to make, through his position, even more money, and also he is now able to influence those who used to be independent US Gov inspectors and investigators, with powers to look at possible offences made by Musk, and fine or otherwise punish him.
He stands to not only make more money, but also to avoid losses.
No. I strongly disagree.
No evidence at all I can see to support that.
Maybe if you or I had 1 billion we would be happy to put our feet up. No reason at all to say that is true of others, including Musk.
Just because he has what most people might consider enough does not mean that he thinks like that.
Indeed if we were in fact in his position, such that excess cash were our normal. maybe we would be nearer his state of mind?
Enough old sayings about the love of money and the corrupting effects of power to be very wary of expecting rich and powerful men to be benign, that is unlikely to be true.
Human nature being what it is we tend to (socially) gravitate towards people with similar traits and leanings as we do. As truck drivers we tend to interact with a broad spectrum of people of differing viewpoints and ethnicities. The common denominator being that we all tend to be working men/women trying to get by as well as we can.
The overwhelming impression I get from chatting with many people is that we may actually be living through the last ever Labour government in Britain! That may come to pass or it may not. One thing is for certain and that is there is a massive disconnect with our current government.
