I agree that he posts some good stuff and some of his advise has helped me, but like has been said he also posts some rubbish. Look at it this way while you was doing your training Rog gave you loads of good advice, then you got a job and ask question about driving hours Rog posted a reply to your question. You took his advice and two days later got pulled by VOSA and get slapped with a nice big fat fine that is why Rog got put on pre mod and I understand from above posts is you read the who thread so would you that he continued to ignore requests from people about using qoutes from other threads that were not relevant to the question being asked.

Also ROG has chosen not to post because he is on pre mod and not happy about it, so although I do think ROG is valuable to the newbies forum he is choosing not to post.

Finally you are out of order for having a go a Diesel Dave, ask him a question on ADR regs and I would bet my house on the answer you get will be correct and in the few conversations I have had with DD in my opinion he is a decent, fair bloke.

Well when they have been removed you wouldn’t see them would you? They may not have been removed, they may have just been edited, and there are plenty of those.

I think it would be fair to provide both sides of the story.

Rog decided not to post on here any more, unless the moderation mode for his posts will be removed, as delays caused by that every single post has to be checked by operator forum make him being late in every discussion.

Also: people who can’t wait for his response write a PM’s to him to which he cannot respond, as it’s impossible if one is in moderated mode.

I don’t know the reasons why mods had a conflict with him and I don’t care, or want to be involved, but I think, coffeholic, that if you give that information, you should give a whole truth, not only the bit convienient for you. Especially that the other side cannot respond.

I found it unfair, so decided to put my word on behalf of the one who’s not present and can’t speak for himself. But off course I still respect and like Coffeholic as I know that we all do mistakes as we are all human.

Obviously you need to have it explained one more time: PM’ing ROG is completely useless, as he cannot answer you while being moderated. WTF is this fascination with him anyway? When all this BS kicked off I even half backed him up but since all this fresh BS that’s been dragging on and on for the past 3 weeks I’m glad to see the [zb] back of him and hope he stays gone. It appears that 95% of the members here have some kind of bizarre fetish for being fed factually incorrect BS from him, as that was all he ever came out with.

No, it all depends on the posts. FFS orys, it’s not rocket science! It’s also not something that is exclusive to this forum, many forums use it and I have been on pre mod on a few. Some I did what ROG has done and didn’t bother posting as my work (being a nuisance, a wind up merchant or just an arse) was done. Others I continued posting and had it lifted if I wanted to continue using the particular forum.

I really value TruckNET and I like to be here, but I have to say that I don’t like some aspects of the moderator’s work. Off course this is not my forum and I cannot tell you what you should do, and the forum is so great that some minor issues regarding moderating will not stop me from being here (unless I become a victim of one ) but as you asked in the name of this forum “Let us know” - I am letting you know:

In my opinion too much here is dependable of the moderators moods and opinions. Off course it is your right, but in my opinion on well-moderated forum moderators are for the ordinary users. Off course I am aware that “Any sanctions taken against a member are private between the member and the TruckNet UK website team. We will not enter into public discussion about those actions” but that leaves a lot of questions. If ROG commited his crime in public, this is not only matter between you and him. And you already broke this rule by discussing it in this post.

So if the thread from which our discussion was moved here was yet another thread when people asked what happened to ROG, obviously ordinary forum users would like to know what happen.

And last but not least: I don’t know what really happened, so I cannot say who’s right, but I know what ROG feels. And what he feels is that he don’t really know what he did wrong as he claims he was never officially told that…

If you out of sudden decide to put me on pre-mod, and I would not be able to tell why, nor when that will ends, I would propably quit that forum as well.

So you want my feedback? Here you go:

In MY OPINION, you, the mods, should made clear what is ROG punished for and what are the conditions he has to fullfill to have his pre-mod status lifted.

In the other words: Just write “Rog did that (what he did wrong), and therefore we decided to put him on pre-mod status until (conditions you given).” And this not breaking the rule about not discussing santions, as this is only INFORMATION and if that INFORMATION would be given, there would be no need for discussion.

And just off the side: I wasn’t really interested in Rog’s affairs here, I wasn’t even aware that something is going on, I was e-mailing with him about something completely different and just by the way asked him “why you disappered”.

TO ANIMAL: I just browsed this thread again with a special attention to Rikki’s posts and could not find what exactly ROG’s crime was.There were some allusions, general statements and suggestions, but no facts at all. If I am wrong, please show me where it was told.
