Calmed down a bit , I can understand a engine cover missing if it was joe bloggs back street garage , but this car had a 100 point check apparently , the manager apparently gave it a thorough check , main dealer , I had a good look under bonnet when buying it but I guess for future ref check under bonnet before leaving garage , lifted bonnet soon as got home to double check oil / water etc , wheres the engine cover !!!
Will now find out what Nissan after sales is like
Though after driving this focus I realisehow down on power the other one was , like night & day .
Whats a engine cover
Also called a bonnet, I’m surprised dozy didn’t notice it missing, until he got home.
Thank god for that I thought that but then it’s dozy and anything is possible like maybe he was taking about a blanket
After various conversation insisting there was no cover , one was never fitted to the car , I said is my old car still here ? , yes , well I’ll have the cover off that one , won’t fit as apparently doesn’t have the brackets for it totally different
Well I’ll have the cover anyway
I’m jinxed for sure , new car went in for water leak in boot & washers , they said rear light but car is now in body shop looking at seam on car apparently , may not get car back today , sorting mr out a car to use for now
Cars has had light resealed , new boot ( hatchback) seal , seam on body resealed & apparently it still leaks water , so there going to book it into main body shop to try & find out where it’s coming from
Mrs is on about rejecting car , saying we want a different car , going to give them another chance & will go down that route I think , mrs adamant that what we’re going to do
Nb will have to look into this rejecting car as I doubt it’s as easy as mrs suggests

Really late seeing this, Dozy, but did you check that the fuel filter’s not blocked?
No Pete , to be honest it’s under warranty so left them to it , I sorted the rattling seat ( sorted ) , they were tasked with the water leak , sorting out washer , neither have they managed to sort yet
If you mean engine fault , that was the original car & is now gone
Got a new one( car ) , which seems to have more issues than the original one !!

Long shot I know but don’t suppose anyone on here local to Manchester has a decent fault code reader do they?
I’m not convinced by them ( code readers ) , Ford said code reader was showing weak vacuum pump , but wouldn’t guarantee it was that / fixing or changing would solve problem , then went onto cam belt ( £1500 ) , but couldn’t guarantee that would fix it
2 nd garage said code pointed to turbo , but Ford technician said code could point to various things
My experience is they don’t actually say vacuum pump / turbo gone , or maybe who were reading the codes on my car didn’t know how to interpret the codes correctly , all seemed a bit vague to me .

Mebbys a bit ott trying to reject a used car for a minor fault doze, and especially if they are doing their best to rectify it.

Agree some are very vague including the one I’ve got. Was only a cheap one but will reset service lights and point you in the right direction with some engine faults
They’re only supposed to assist with the diagnosis of the fault.
Have an air suspension fault at moment and my code reader won’t have any of it.

You know what women are like when they get something in there head rob , though now not helped by the new door seal put on when we brought the car ( I noticed it when opening door to open bonnet ) already falling off !! , I’ve fixed it back on with double sided gorilla tape .
I don’t think we will keep it long rejection or not , it will do as a stop gap but think a change of make is due

It could be certain codes point to A thing & others point to various things , maybe why first garage said vacuum pump , 2 nd said turbo , confirmed by Ford technician saying the code could point to various things
The issue is you could Chuck £500 for a vacuum pump , £800 on a turbo ( + fitting etc ) & still not of solved the problem
That’s why I paid initial £90 to tell me the problem , 2 nd diagnoses was free but still never got to the bottom of issue
Bit like water leak , you can see water , drips but upto now no- one can actually work out where it’s comming from though my money is still on
Light even though they say it’s been re- sealed
This is the seam they believe is causing the issue , they intend to reseal & repaint , I’m not convinced at all , the water seems to me to be comming from below the back of the rear light
Car goes in on 19th/ 20 th , I’m convinced I’ll get a phone call saying that the problem hasn’t been solved or the first time it rains we will have a boot full of water
This is the bit that looks wrong to me , about a 1/8 inch gap between light & body , garage says fine , it’s not the light causing issue
Took legal advice , told have to give them a chance to repair , then can reject car , hopefully they solve issue , but I’ve grave doubts
Told them I’m rejecting the car , didn’t realise but back seat is absolutely soaking wet , bloody great water stains , back seat that was as new is ruined , something really wrong here , cant see how water can get from seam on tailgate to back seat ,impossible , I’m wondering if it’s bern in some kind of smash & it’s bern bodged back together
Checked roof lining , doors , can’t work how back seat is soaking wet , mate recons it’s sloshing forward from wheel well / boot
Had enough now , bloody joke
I’d say previous owner must of known but there was no stains on seat , baffling
