dozy:
Checked roof lining , doors , can’t work how back seat is soaking wet , mate recons it’s sloshing forward from wheel well / boot
Had enough now , bloody joke
I’d say previous owner must of known but there was no stains on seat , baffling
A targetted hose jet can provide a rough guide as to the vertical level of any water ingress.
IE aimed specifically at the light fitting resulting in signs of a leak obviously means that it’s not coming from any other or higher point than that.
So start at the lowest suspect point then aim it higher.Door seals look like a probable cause assuming seat faces being affected.
Also sun roof channel drains blocked if fitted.
Ironically water leaks seem to be a much more common fault on more recent cars than older ones.Bearing in mind that old rust prevention and protection generally meant a premature trip to the crusher if water got into footwells and floors.
That cable access rubber boot leaks on many cars, they usually get siliconed, and if you have a roof aerial at the back of car, they can leak too.
Pull that rubber strip off and look at the roof under the headlining.
If you have access to an airline you can squirt soapy water onto the seams/roof aerial/ rubber boot mentioned above and from underneath the headlining/panelling direct the air hose at it.
If it’s leaking it’ll bubble up.

Thankyou dav1 d , I’ve had a look but I’m not sure I want to goto far as 99% sure car is being rejected , I don’t want to end up in a situation where there trying to blame me for issues , looked at headlining which I’d of thought would have marked but nothing , no obvious water streaks so at a loss how back seat is getting wet
Got puncture mended today & garage rang me to tell me boot was full of water !!!
Thanks again but I think this is going to be ongoing so it’s going one way or other
Hopefully civic / octavia / Leon’s don’t leak water
Garage have rang , car has been done , all seams resealed , apparently stood outside all morning and there is no sign of any car leak , said try it for a week and if leaks return then they will put me into another car ( with no loss financially to me ) ,
They understand how I feel but don’t want bad feeling , so no need to go down rejection route , just put me into another car
They have a nice Audi which me mrs like , so if not sold will likely go for that
Seems reasonable to me
Though I still like focus so wouldn’t be unhappy if water leak is fixed
