Wheel Nut:
A little later, but there were also Mathews of Ossett who had Naylors running for them with Lard and Margarine.

That particular job is now done by Arla.

The Matthews factory is now part of Kerry Foods, and is about 400 yards from my front door.

I didn’t realise the place was still there. I thought Matthews was knocked down, it is 25 years ago since I last delivered there. I seem to remember a pub at the bottom of the lane.

Wincanton at Maltby did a bit for Matthews a few years back.

I worked for Mathews when i was still at school , Mum , Brother , Uncles etc all worked there back in the day and my dad used to deliver there with pattersons tankers

Hi
Dose anyone have any photoes of the fleet operated by Callanders felt products from Crigglestone I had one of their DAF 3300 space cabs B601KGU at their Chester depot COLAS, lasted me 9 years then got a new FL10 what a come down !!! The Daf was all green at Callanders but was sprayed silver at the Chester depot then back to green and red in Laybond livery after a management buy out , but the company now GONE. I’m retired  which is great as I have not reached the big 60 yet. I’ve got some pictures I need to get scanned, and I’ll load when I can.

They use to call it “Pulverised Fuel” and a lot steel works used it instead of coal for the boiler house

Does anyone remember Rycroft transport , not sure if the had connections with Onward at some time, Rycroft I am sure they sold out to Fowler Welch at Cambridge. The site at Hoyland Common Barnsley is still occupied by Armitage Transport Cheers Mel
