I’d forgotten about A.E.Scothern revman, the wagons had “Mon Amie” on the front IIRC and they were early starters on the steel job, maybe they did two B’hams a day? What about J H Lords and Seniors in Rotherham, they were both on the steel job.And did you ever go in London and Scandanavian next to SPT? I went once for summat, what a [zb] They had their own transport, green AECs I think.

it’ll probably be a while after you’re talking about, but we used to load in L&S regularly in the early 80s, all sorts of powdered metals mainly for germany - bloody heavy little drums
Does anyone know if H.Baker transport is still going, I used to know a few of their lads back in the '80’s when we used to backload off them when I was on for Perfects of Gt.Yarmouth. I think their yard was in Laurel St. Bradford. One or two names that spring mind are Walter, Keith, and not forgetting Barry who came and gave us a look whilst on holiday in Gt. Yarmouth several years ago. I was very pleased to meet up with him again.
Cheers everyone, Haddy (Dave)

info on the following transport firms in & around Bradford of Smith Parkinson Cole, Obanks,
SPC were incorporated into Frank Obanks/ Richard Dennison when they were bought by Carlton Holdings in the mid 60’''s (or was it British Fuel Company first)
Ther were several coal hauliers that were taken under the same umbrella about the same time. Pearson Moody, was another name I recall.
The name and the livery dissapeared as soon as the vehicles were replaced, all being liveried as either Obank or Dennison
Sorry no pics of any.
Ronald Obank who was the boss at Tong St is now ROCO body builders Low Moor Bradford.
Haddy, H Baker is still going but I think with only a couple of motors. Don’t know any of the drivers there nowadays.
anyone remember sanmar container services?
Last time I saw one of their units(Merc2035) it was passing me on the “motorway” between Nicosia and Paphos in Cyprus.
Repainted but you could still read the name under the paint.
