Struggled to find any Blubberhouse Silica Sand trucks to photo and eventually located some of them at the Brook’s family farm at Haigh, near Woolley Pit. Did not realise that the trucks would be based so far away from the quarry!!!
Will post a few soon

Had a good day recently, invited to show some of my photos at Peter Bibby’s Open Day at Ingleton.
Arrived late, not knowing what to expect, but made very welcome and Peter had arranged for me to have a table (12 FOOT LONG!!!) on which to show my collection. Spent from 11am until 4pm almost without a break, meeting drivers etc interested in what I had managed to record over the past 30 years. Met a lot of people whose lorries I had photographed, but not always able to meet the actual drivers or owners at the time. Brought back a lot of memories for them and me. That is without being able to get all the albums out, probably a good half though.
Luckily, Scrapman there, which allowed me to leave the stall in his capable hands to allow me a call of nature, otherwise would have been somewhat cross-legged by the end of the day.
Surprised you not able to get there, reasonable turn out of vehicles, unfortunately I had no chance of actually looking at, never mind trying to photograph. Met Andrew Burton, finally, and also Cattle Wagonman, he on next table to me at the event and met up again at the Barnard Castle Truck Rally the following day.
We need to get together soon, so that you can look at the ever growing collection, some of which made Scrapman’s eyes light up. Play my cards close to my chest, as usual.

Trying to find information on a company from Kirbymoorside and Pickering called T Cook and sons, all Green cabs and red chassis running on Milk and Timber, they also had had cement mixers and tippers. started in the 30s and I think they finished in the 80’s running mainly Volvos at the end
Anybody heard of or worked for them ?
Yep heard of them they did a lot of milk tanker work and were based near the roundabout in Kirbymoorside - shut down now and there old place is a garden centre.

Great photos amongst that lot, used to drive the old DAF with the Dalepak trailer. It was still being used by Reed Boardall when i was there in 1992. They had two with consecutive plates. Had quite a few old Wilsons motors when they first started up. Will have to scan some of mine in when i have time. Have a load of my first waggon. Merc 2233, woo hoo, doing continental for Alan Sadler from Minskip near Boroughbridge.

Hi all a fantastic collection of pictures on here ! As this thread is dedicated to the North Does any body remember an owner driver from the early 80’s called James Power he used to have an Atkinson Borderer used to do some work for Jameson’s at Heywood Manchester ? Not to sure where he was from may be somewhere near the Manchester area .
Just a long shot ! But you never know, there’s been quite a few surprises on these threads !
