Browns moved out the the old airfield at Tockwith and now no longer exist.

Hartley’s retired and I think sold out to Revis’s.

Dowsetts if its the one I am thinking of down Bar Lane was taken over by one the the big engineering firms and have moved out of the yard which is now used by Reed Bordall for trailer storage.

cattle wagon man:
This E.R.F. cab was spotted in a breakers yard in Malta a couple of months ago. A lile bit o Yorkshire fe yer .
The haulage company must have had 2 depots , - according to the Halifax and Brighouse telephone numbers.
Does anyone on here know/remember the firm , or even remember the E.R.F. when in service ?
Cheers , cattle wagon man.
Hi C w m, used to see the ERF about quite a lot, tidy motor, cab still looks ok, don’t know what happened to it, but sure the firm went pop.

Hi Cwm, at the time when I used to see the ERF I was working for a quarry in Brighouse, we had no workshop so big jobs went to Dave Blockley at Driglington ,
although I overhauled our F7 engine in his yard, middle of winter because he was so busy, you will probably know him, he did Fred Greenwoods work then, probably still does, he had some great wreakers and cattle truck and again probably still does, he was very passionate about his cattle trucks.
Les.
Dave Blockley is a good man, he did me a big favour free of charge with one of his small recovery vehicles when my daughter died, I needed to get her car moved to a safe place and he was there for me, no problem. You don’t forget good things like that.

Regards Les.
I agree with the comments above Dave Blockley is a gent, I met him many years ago at Witton Castle truck show where he asked me to take a photo of one of his recovery trucks and over the years I have taken a few photo’s for him I have posted a couple here now the last time I spoke to him was at last years Barnard Castle truck show…regards prattman.
