Work Boots?

What work boots shall i buy? any recomendations?

im looking for lightweight, comfortable work boots (mid ankle length) upto £120
i dont want heavy clunky big boots as i cant feel the pedals :unamused:

ideally i find walking boots really comfy but they dont have toe caps.
i think walking boot manufacturers are missing a big market here?

Up to £120!..

Jeez, much more than £40 and I’m getting angsty. 90% of the time, I’m wearing trainers, I only wear the clown shoes when I get to certain sites that demand I wear clown shoes.

I wear Dunlop Dakota safety boots which are £32.99 from Sports Direct. There comfortable enough and not so clunky that you can’t drive in them. I only get a year out of a pair but I do wear them pretty much all the time.

I usually buy a pair when Lidl (other kruat discount supermarkets are available) has them in the middle aisle. £18 odd, and surprisingly wearable.

I use Caterpillar. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Had these a couple of years, comfy straight off worn winter and summer

Currently accept the offering of my employer, but I can concur that Dunlop has been about the best I have worn - the boot staying intact and preventing water ingress until the tread had run smooth through wear. Also, any extra cost paid back by the extended length of use obtained.

Arco’s own brand. From around £50. Always fit well, and last well.

Not got a specific boot recommendation but something I do is when I find a pair of boots I like, I buy 2 pair and put one away. when the first pair wear out/fall apart etc I know I have a pair to go to, and can look for a new pair or two when it’s convenient rather than desperately buyng the first thing that comes along through desperation.

Top range Dewalts, several versions have leather uppers, last well, comfortable and waterproof…the latter point is where the cheap garbage most companies supply fall down.

I wear William Lennon Rufflander boots I call in at the factory to buy seconds for £15 it’s cheaper that way .

These are in budget and are lighter than they look , water proof , comfy , had a pair for 2 years and still look new .

Can’t recommend them enough.

Bush gear , can I have my commission now pls ; )

I’m a fan of Dewalts.

They felt heavy at first. Got used to them now. Saved my toes a few times.

I think I paid £55 for my Dewalt Titanium’s. Don’t get the honey coloured boots. They stain quickly and are a pain in the arse to keep clean.

‘Site’ from Screwfix are good value for money.

screwfix.com/p/site-meteori … e-11/2496f - ive had two pairs of these as someone robbed the first pair. brilliant boots.

Helly Hansen workwear are mega pricey, but fantastic, waterproof, hardwearing and comfy.

the Boa system is brilliant, no laces dragging around.

Cat are reasonable, but pricey, and no better than the site ones

I also have a pair of safety trainers from amazon for summer and a pair of army tech boots for non cold wet days

The site ones from screw fix are the ones I took back after 5 months as the sole had worn out ( sole is mostly like foam with a sliver of rubber ) , I can’t fault Screwfix as they exchanged them no quibbles for a brand new pair though the fact they looked brand new other than the sole probably helped

I bought some of these 2 weeks ago, screwfix.com/p/site-marble- … e-10/5750h up to now they are the best pair of work boots i have ever had, have a read of the reviews it seems others are also happy

I use DEWALT Hammers they have a composite toe cap so feet don’t get cold and they don’t weigh a ton

There the ones I took back , that sole is not solid rubber , make sure you keep receipt as I’m sure it’s a years guarantee , if my experience is anything to go by you’ll need

I’m only sharing this cos I’ve bought a total of 4 pairs for myself first  Take a bit of wearing in but my first pair have been awesome for the past year so I bought 3 more. Genuine bargain warehouse down the road from me in Coalville, they sell them from their ebay shop for £80. Some sizes are starting to sell out now.
