Never seen this asked but with so many members be good to find out where most people passed there test.

WHAT TEST ■■

Passed at Sheffield in January 1994.

Lessons and test were paid for by my parents for my 21st Birthday.

Bought mine off a bloke who was emigrating, best fiver I’ve ever spent in my life.

I won a competition (voucher for £250) with Trucking International Magazine and went for a 10 day course with E.P.Training at Great Bookham. Paid the rest myself. Could not get a job seekers grant. I failed the test on reversing. Went back to Southampton, and had some more lessons with a guy called Jim, and the next test was cancelled when I discovered a puncture. Passed the test finally when I got to the test ground and someone had not turned up and I took their place. My friends at Lorraines Lorry Park Cafe told me when I passed my test I had to have an 18 wheeler breakfast. Needless to say I could not eat it all. LOL. LIz

All paid for by myself.

Passed car test first time. 1973.
Passed motorcycle test first time. 1975.
Passed HGV 1 first time. 1977.

All in Oxford.

Passed Class 2 in Kirkham (Lanc’s) it’s in the north you know?? Passed Class 1 in Simonswood near Liverpool!!

Further to this question how many attempts did we all take??

Me C2 first time C1 first time bur car taken twice  I tell you the bigger it is the easier it is to drive!!

the dole paid for my old class 3, i paid myself for class 1, both at simonswood test centre liverpool.

Passed PSV in 1991 at Yeading, Class C in 1998 at Norwich, and C+E in 1999 again at Norwich all paid for myself.

company paid (JH Dewhurst)for my class 3 did it at llantrisant in 1982 in a leyland Boxer (they also did my car test in 1977 at cathys cardiff in a HA bedford van)
my Class one was part of redundancy from JHD also @ Llantrisant Xmas eve 1984 in a Ford D series think it had a 5 or 6 speed gearbox no half gears or range changes and about a 20 foot tandam axle trailer

I cant remember where I took my class three, would it have been Holbeck. I did my HGV 1 in Hull

passed my class 1at leicester with coates in 85,cost me about £300 which at the time was a fortune, this was in the days when you could go straight in for your class 1.

PCV D paid myself passed at Bishopbriggs
LGV C paid myself passed at Kilmarnock

I passed first time class 1 at Livingston paid myself with BME Training of Bo’ness

Passed my Class C first time round, had test out of the Weedon test centre [last November] one minor , paid for it myself

Got my C&E this month, being paid for by my brother in law who just got divorced sold house, loads of money to burn and said he’d help us out, won’t say no to that :exclamation:

Car was done on the second attempt in july 04 in kettering, the first test I failed because I went through an amber light that was turning green to amber as I went through it, at the bottom of bowling green road if anyone knows it, literally ten second drive from the test centre :open_mouth: ■■■■

Paid for it myself, in the days when you could go straight for a Class 1 back in the late eighties.
Passed on the third attempt after going to North Manchester HGV for the first two, a right bunch of cowboys to say the least.
Went to Stockport HGV, which was my first choice & where I should have gone in the first place & passed first crack at Swynnerton.

I passed at the first attempt five days after my 21st.
This was with the RTITB in Parkstone,Poole.
My boss put me thro’,but I had to reimburse him.
Mr Horace Cutler was there when I passed & told me to go away to get experience.
He owned a haulage co in Poole. So I moved to Atlas at Rotherhithe, then general,
wreckers-where I learnt about mechanics-then on to international.
After over 30 years on the job,I would love to be still doing it.
C’est la vie. :frowning: .Heart attack has stopped me.
Wish the French could have found a heart that fitted me. :unamused:
