What's the best place to live for a Class 1 driver?

I’ve been wondering what is the best place in the country to live to be a class 1 driver?
Where is the highest concentration of jobs for drivers, highest concentration of distribution centers , supermarket distribution centers?
Where is it easiest to find a job for a class 1 driver?
I’ve heard of Avonmouth area, around Dartford bridge, what about other parts of the country?

Depends what kind of work your looking for really, if your tramping a longer commute would work as its only twice a week.
If you wanted days Bridgewater not too bad for example you got morrisons argos and wisemans not far from each other.

I would say the triangle is more Crick, Leicester and Coventry.

Personally I live just outside of Hinckley and property prices are quite reasonable as well.

Yes, Dartford might be good, because of Tilbury port and all that but rents are high in that area.
What about the North West between Manchester, Liverpool, Warrington?
Is there much going on?
I sometimes see vacancies posted for class 1 drivers for that part of that country.

Personally, I’d rather live in the middle of nowhere with no prospect of a well paid job than live in Dartford. (With no offence intended to those who live in Dartford and are happy there … it’s just not my sort of place.)

:neutral_face: :neutral_face: It’s all very nice talking about how many depots there might be in a particular area, but the better question we want the answer to is How many depots there are actually recruiting as opposed to merely making shifts available via the local agencies?

Wages are poor in Spalding but I’ve heard that if you can go a whole week without having an accident you get a 100 Zloty bonus. :wink:
