What was the very first vehicle you drove?

I had a trip down memory lane today, I delivered to AMG at North Weald and it occurred to me that the last time I drove here was about 30 years ago. As a small boy the prospect of being able to drive something ws quite exciting. Especially one of these.

My dads ford cortina round an airfield

a bedford Duple vega coach round a supermarket car park when I was a kid

An Austin seven, Fordson and Massey Harris tractors, Dumper truck, and Wolsley 4/50 All when i was about seven. All but the wolseley was off road, and the wolseley was up and down the village roads!

a triumph dolomite sprint

OMG, where do I start?

My old fellas MK1 Cortina sat on his knee, as probably most boys did when they were infants.

And then at 14, and before I was old enough to hold a licence I was driving Leyland FG 550’s on the roads around South Shields. (But don’t tell my brother in law, as he’s a taffic cop there now.)

Before I eventually got my licence, Leyland Terriers, Leyland Roadrunners, Leyland Boxers and an array of cars and motorbikes were piloted.

But now I’m a fine upstanding pillar of the community, you wouldn’t catch me doimg ANYTHING dodgy. (Honest guv.)

Ken.
