Well at least it’s taken 4 pages before this comes up. There is a tax in place for the pedestrian & cycle lane, it’s called council tax. The council have decided to spend a little of it on a new safer cycle & pedestrian route, are you suggesting that only cyclists pay for it through a seperate tax or that all users pay? Compared to the cost of a new road that’s quite cheap.
As an update, yes the driver has been sacked by the caravan company.

I’ve never been a racer. But it’s not illegal to time trial on public roads … they’re the ones I had in mind. I should have said “a time trialler”.

No it’s not, not for cyclists anyway, in fact there is a race going on in France this week, Paris to Nice. Enjoy.

can i just give an example of when bikes should use the cycle path provided. Put into google maps this, 51.515109, 0.007216, the bus lane is sign posted for Bus’ taxi’s and Motorcycles NOT bicycles yet they still use it when it is ILLEGAL to use it the same as it would be for a car or lorry to use it. if they wanted to use the road legally they should be in the lane for normal traffic. obviously the cycle path in the video where jthefishy gets cut up isn’t very good or well maintained and the cyclist has every right to be in the road.

Does it matter? The driver is the one who’s BANG out of order in that video. As I said above, what could possibly have happened for you to risk taking someone’s life by driving like that?
If the cyclist wound you up that bad, drive past, stop, get out and lamp him, DO NOT use the vehicle as a weapon.

I think he means pushbike. Count yourself lucky on your little (upto) 124cc, my motorbike tax is around £78 / yr 
My car is over £200
Luckily, my pushbike is still £0 
I know posters have already mentioned the driver has been sacked. A bit more info here.

My Wife’s citroen C1 was £0 as well I think.
Just so you know re the car tax thing, there are over 2 million cars on the road that are zero rated for tax. If you feel like a rant about car tax have a pop at them, they cost the system money. Cycles don’t.
terrible piece of driving IMHO, some cyclists are tools are deserve an ear bashing or a beep now and again but not this, but if this tool on a bike wants to drive on the road and cause people annoyance then unfortunately there are people out an about willing to rise to it, plus some double standards from the cyclists saying he doesn’t want the guy to lose his job but tellin the papers this:
He told us: “I’d like to see him get points on his licence and severely reprimanded at work.

“But I would like to see him get prosecuted, because it was dangerous and it was deliberate.”
all of what he said results in the sack to me, who going to employ u with a DD on your license, not that this clown should have one in the first place

Do you really think a person gets on a bicycle to cause other road users annoyance?
If you are thinking that, then maybe a lorry drivers profession is not for you. The entitlement for you to obtain a licence is a undertaking on your behalf to understand that other people may be using the road apart from yourself, whilst your in charge of a motor vehicle. If these other road users are causing you annoyance 
Maybe you should stop using the public highway!

Shouldn’t you be really asking why a innocent party who has NEARLY been killed THERE is being labeled a tool?
