He also called the driver a clown who should not be driving but then that would you being open and fair,so not likely to happen.im no to keen on the lycra warriors but would not id never do what that tool of a license did
That is f*****g appalling, I hope that driver is reading this thread and self harms out of guilt.
in my opinion this cyclist is a toolm there is a perfectly good cycle lane there to use, ok he crying there are obstructions like bins and lampposts in it but what defence is that, if their is an obstruction in the road what do I do, I slow down and navigate the obstacle in a safe manner and that’s what this cyclist should of done, in my opinion there are too many rebel cyclists about who say I have every right to use the road and they do, but if a lane is provided for them why not use it, o because I can onl do 10 miles an hour on that but I can do 25 on the road and f everybody else, I drive a hgv and class myself as professional, at least 5 times a day AT LEAST I prevent or help prevent accidents on the road, yes I could just plough right threw them and adopt the f you mentality but I don’t because I class my self as a professional, an accident would only inconvience me but it going to hurt them, I could have 10 holidays a year with all the whiplash claims and not have to ■■■■ the windscreen all the way up the motorway but I don’t, because no matter how much of a knob other drivers and cyclist be it not worth hurting someone for, I do a lot of London work and if the cars aren’t bad enough to be dodging the cyclists and buses are even worse, my eyes are more in the mirrors and blindspots more than are on the road, those 40 mins it takes to get into central London will put years on you, but theres no need to bash me because I called him a tool necasue that’s what he is unfortunately, I use the lanes provided to me at a speed that is appropriate to the situation and he should be using the cycle lane, that does not excuse the lorry driver at all what he did was beyond dangerous and he should be punished, I just read between the lines sometimes and this cyclist is that guy who just likes to be awkward for the sake of it IMHO, using that cycle lane might put 20 mins on his journey but itll save him years of his life and all the heartache any possible accident it could caise

“… if their is an obstruction in the road what do I do, I slow down and navigate the obstacle in a safe manner …”
You’re right to say that, but wrong about which road user you’re applying it to (and the irony seems to have gone over your head, but never mind that). Someone should have slowed down and “navigated” (you meant “negotiate”, by the way) the “obstacle” in a safe manner, but it wasn’t the cyclist.
Whatever you think of cyclists and cycle lanes, the fact of the matter is that the cyclist has every right to use the road. That’s really all there is to it. I’d have been on the road too: riding at 20+mph, it’s the only safe place to be. What makes it unsafe is not the cyclist failing to use the cycle lane, it’s the ■■■■ in the truck thinking he’s Lord God Almightly and failing to drive according to the other traffic.
it appears to me that you just read what you want in an article and forget the rest, unfortunately for me written English is not my strong point, something you felt you should correct me on ( grammar police ne nar ne nar) as petty as you are
If I’ve misread what you were saying, then I apologise. But it does look very much like you were saying “the cyclist is a tool for not using the cycle lane”, which is the point I’ve addressed.
I have no idea what it’s got to do with the case in question, but I liked this comment under the video:
"‘A banker, a refugee and a Daily Mail reader are sitting at a table, sharing twelve biscuits. The banker takes eleven biscuits and says to the Daily Mail reader, “Watch out for the refugee - he wants your biscuit!”’.
