Quite agree Dennis. I was in a queue of traffic in Llangollen in may 07,the lights on the A5 turned to green, the cars in front of me shot off.I had my uncle with me,as usual we were chatting and I went around the corner by the Wild Pheasant Hotel, there was this bloody camera van,I looked at my speedo, was on 35,thought ■■■■ he’s got me and he had.The thing is with this speed awareness lark, you pay £60 the same as the fixed penalty and save your points, but can’t go on it if you are in excess of 5 mph of the permitted speed, also I had to travel up to Greenfield in North Wales to attend it,then spend three hours with about 15 other people, all being spoken to by this BSM prat, who was a patronising B-----d,then travel back, which made it an all day job.Never mind it did make me think, but with all the signs and other stuff on the road, you can’t watch the speedo all the time.
Cheers Dave.

hiya,
Dave i got three points a while back I too was offered the speed awareness course but never bothered, i asked a pal of mine who’d been to one and like you a long travel was confronted with a “boy” who my pal said he would have done more miles in reverse than this pillock would have ever done going forward, myself having got my first licence (motorcycle) at age 16 and now pushing 75 could’nt care less, if the lawmen can’t catch you fair and square and not the sneaky method “cameras” i don’t care if they keep the damned licence, in County Durham we have two police forces Durham constabulary and also Northumerland constabulary which have cameras and the bit where i live which comes under Durham does’nt, the Chief Constable won’t have them i was unfortunately in the wrong part of town when i got nicked, at least you could always tell the speed cop who pulled you to give his parents your best wishes when they get married.

Congratulations on the 200+ Dave

Hi Harry,
We haven’t any fixed camera’s in Powys where I live, only a few in Herefordshire, but we get quite a few camera vans around, but at least they are only where the camera signs are displayed. The stupid thing is,the police won’t do anything about speeding on the B road through the village where I live, loads drive through here as if their backside is on fire, the local sargeant says to get a copper with a speed gun here,he has to make a bid to finance it.We still have to pay our council tax though.
Rant over :unamused:
Cheers Dave.

Dave said a while back you would be seeing lots of straw on the move a big shortage of the stuff in the UK this season might be worth it’s weight in gold.
