Hiya “H” I think that Scanny might be a bit “High tech” for you as it has a heater that works and also a windscreen!! (I don’t think Foden steamers had them luxuries?)As regards the 240 Gardner’s there hasn’t been anyone else come on the thread other than the SOM lads claiming to have driven Big Js with the 240 LXBs so I wonder if Guy’s built a few as a sop to SOM considering all the ■■■■■■■ engined tractors they must have bought off them!! Seddon’s fit a few with 8 cyl Gardners but had them knocked back to 200BHP (so they could use the David Brown 6spd box I believe) Is your 'ead spinning with all this useless technical info “H”------mine is—phew–I’m going for a lie down!!! Cheers Dennis.

hiya,
Dennis not bothered about luxuries such as heaters would’nt know how to switch things like that on, will settle for a good cab light with operating instructions just so i can make sure the log sheet looks Ok when running a bit corkscrew, nearest i ever got to a half decent Scanny was a 110 which was only bettered by an F88 but that’s only my opinion which is worth zilch, the Gaffer could have advertised the old Volvo as “for sale knackered but bunk brand new”.

Snap “H” I never slept in a cab ever! Done a lot of night flyers but always went into Digs! Have slept in some dodgy digs but they were better than cab 'otel!!! Dennis.
