Welcome Break food voucher

Just started sleeping out in the cab after a break of 4 years and on paying the parking charge i paid a bit extra for a food voucher. In the morning
i went to the cafe, time was 5 am to be told it dos’nt open til 7am. Think i will be staying at roadchef from now on.

I think you can still use it at a later date.

Watch out at Fleet, i have been caught out there, you arrive to park, and pay then to be told there is no hot meals or food, you have the meal voucher, the food stops very early, the after noon i think.
Up north once, i paid to park , got a voucher, and was offered very limited choice of what they advertise in the day, ended up with a £9 jacket potatoe for my meal voucher.

went in medway before xmas and was informed by burger king staff that my voucher only entitled me to the “king of the day meal”.
wtf… :smiling_imp:

Same at Exeter meal voucher is for 9 quid. King of the day meal is 3.99 can’t get anything else with the rest of the voucher the robbing twits

This is why our foreign cousins refuse to spend one pence in the Uk, they eat of out their mini kitchens on the side of their trailers as they keep the same trailer all year and get bussed of flown home at Christmas.
Who was the first MSA to charge us all parking, i would rather have a Maccky D `s, than waste my money on rip off stale food.

this seems to be the case for a lot of BK’s then they do the same a Wooley on the M1 as well - I had some poor german guys that didnt know wtf was going on they thought they were going to get a choice or something in the end i felt a bit sorry for them so i bought em both a large box of fries each

same at donny…think it`s moto…robbing ■■■■■.

can anyone tell me why michael wood is £18.50,and strensham is £27 quid …what`s so good about strensham

Clackett Lane on the M25 is the most expensive in the uk, parking is £ 30, BUT and a very big but,you do get an £11 meal voucher for TWO meals, so if you are hungry you get two.
If you walk in as a car driver you have to pay £ 9 for one meal, and the portions were very big, but we are banned from parking there due to the cost.

Ask instead, “Why do the owners of Strensham need to be even greedier than Michael Wood?”

i dont mind michael wood, the voucher gets you a fully loaded box meal...and theyve actually spent some money on the parking area.
should be interesting to see what happens in summer…now that caravans are`nt allowed in the hgv area.i take it,illegally parked caravans WILL be clamped.

I parked at Strensham the other week and it was free because I just didn’t pay.

And as a bonus they’ll send me some nice bits of paper over the next few months until they give up, they will come in handy for lighting the fire. :stuck_out_tongue:

Crushed by HGV with hungry and tired driver then?

I used to pull in next to caravans at 2am then turn the fridge on while I had my 45 then turn it off again

ive just had one of those from welcome break the wh smith shop was closed when i went to pay the sign said to pay by mobile but my phone is locked (not using my own) and would not have had a receipt
forgot all about it in the morning

advice ive been given now is to appeal it to parking eye when they refuse ask for a ref number for poplo and appeal again as it costs um 20 odd quid then if you have no joy ignore
the law slightly changed when clamping was banned

The best course of action is to ignore any correspondence from them and eventually they will go away. At the end of the day all they are sending you is an invoice. Go on www.moneysavingexpert.com and look at the forums, there you will find a parking/fines section and all the advice you will need.

A mandatory requirement of motorway service areas etc is to have a cash operated telephone available at all times (policy circular 01/08, section 68 mandatory requirements) you should have asked to use it and see what they said
