I very often pass J31 of the M6 (Tickle Trout) and VOSA are nearly always parked Southbound just before the on slip. (Ford Galaxy)
Are they waiting to pull trucks into the checking area at the end of the M65 at Preston?

yes usually there nearly 24/7 at that site
I would imagine that it’s just a convenient point for accessing a number of motorways and major trunk roads but I’m just guessing…
Theyve been out an awful lot at Doxey junc 14 M6 just lately as well

They are parked on the hard shoulder of the M6 just before the on slip. My first post wasn’t too clear on that sorry
Hey Alix776 I notice your a mod on pocketgps world. I recently started downloading the camera database. Its great! I also take great delight in submitting new cameras whenever I see them. Another submitted today from me…flaming mobile cameras ggrrrrr
is it me or are vosa out more than they used to be, and i seen them on m56 towards chester the other day around where the bridge is and services so where is the weighbridge, and does anyone know is there a tomtom download for the position of the weighbridges.

Wasnt the m6 carlisle site built for that purpose, to be a 24/7 site■■?

answer to your question yes there is one for TOMTOM.
yes at times i do have to go around places will have to plug my tomtom in lol
Had an early start last Monday, on way to Southampton, stopped at Sutton Scotney and noticed North and South truck parks were full of foreigners, bet theyd been parked up by VOSA, cos theyve been there an awful lot just lately
That would explain why I see this one nearly all the time then, if they are soon to be open 24/7
I have also seen an increase in police ANPR sites too over the last few weeks.
its just one big check out there
when are they going to start giving on spot fines out and as i drive a yellow plate as a brit driver whats the outcome anyone know?
Think the on the spot fine thing is if you have no permanent uk address, ie foreigners will have to wait until the fine has been paid by their boss until they are allowed on theeir way. One VOSA guy I was tlking to about 12 months ago said that from that point on they were going to be issued with stab vests
i read a story in papers other week about a LT driver who attacked a vosa guy so prob good idea.

I have noticed more VOSA activity too, in fact they were out in force in Ashford last night, the whole time that Derby County were playing Nottingham Forest
VOSA will be 24/7 all over the UK. In regards to Foreign drivers money will be taken if theyve been naughty…cant pay then the vehicle will be immobilised. Graduated fixed penalties will apply to ALL nationalities and drivers with no fixed UK address will have points put against a ‘Ghost’ licence at DVLA. Run out of points and driving in the uk will be over.
Its called the HRTI High Risk Traffic Iniative and is mainly focusing on foreign traffic but that is not to say that domestic drivers will be ignored!!!

That is where the lancs motorway police HQ is based and i think that the vosa vehicles for that area park there and most likely have there brews there too. the weighbridge at thornham island (junct 20 m62/m627) is currently parking jonny foreigners up for fun there and at birch svs for hours offences.
greg it junction 31 for the police aswell as highways agency
