I very often pass J31 of the M6 (Tickle Trout) and VOSA are nearly always parked Southbound just before the on slip. (Ford Galaxy)

Are they waiting to pull trucks into the checking area at the end of the M65 at Preston?

spot on thats exactly what they are doing been pulled twice there told me cause my lift axle was up (so what?) take you onto weighbridge at end of 65 both times just a quick weigh then away waste of time really

they were at switch island at 3’oclock in the morning last sat waiting for the paddy’s sorry i mean irish coming off the ferry.

What’s the evil for?

Wasn’t it just north of Docksey a foreign truck ran in the back of family car ?.

Maybe as lots of post on here specualate, lots of drivers are flouting drivers hours regs. Hopefully once inquests/court cases are finished that may not be the case in the above.

So why the evil smiley, surely as a professional trucker you want your competition to run legal and bear the same costs as yourself, unless there’s another motive that you don’t wan’t 24/7 enforcement ?

Just for the record, Irish hauliers have threatened port’s they will move their business and use another point of entry if they allow VOSA to use their facilities. WHY ? Seems like strongarm tactics/blackmail to me.

Surely it is in your interests for a level playing field, maybe if some firms don’t run straight you may pick up extra work this side of the water as they decide it’s not worth the effort anymore.

What point of entry will they use? they dont have much choice if im right there is only one other option and that is direct to france cant see that paying or theyd be going that way in first place. Though i do agree with them vosa should not be allowed on any uk port you get enough crap with uk customs on the dock you dont need vosa sniffing around if they want to stop you it should be on the road or in their own sites

Heading to Holyhead last tuesday running a bit late but enought time to catch ferry came up the A41 to A55 just before it heads off at Queensferry Mr Vosa sat sat on bridge, wasn’t speeding or anything brings me for spot check wastes Half-hour of my time nothing wrong everything clean. Tell them I’ve got Live Chicks on board and its welfare issue if I miss the Ferry they speed up! Make the Ferry with 5mins to spare. Don’t want that hassle again. Guess because its an Irish reg lorry was why I was pulled was only irish and dutch lorries they pulled. Not one UK plate  !!!
