Volvo Fh4, the worst truck ever built?

Problems we have on our 64’s every single drivers inside handle has snapped off leaving a a bit eh metal to open the door. Say 75% of the cruise control button has came off leaving a plastic snub.

Quite a few problems with the automatic brakes, brake warnings etc

Quite a few warnings about side lockers being open when they are not.

The plastic on a couple of keys have snapped.

Some of the trucks let in water around the doors.

2 silencers have fell off.

My impressions is that the build quality is disgraceful God knows what they will be like in a few years. Compared to our 59 plate volvos which are real workhorses and throw up very little problems.

Ps the air suspension control took me a while to figure out aswell, who came up with that needs a right good slap.

Totally agree about the suspension. Mine has a brake warning, and an air leak warning, even though I have no issues. It is crap. Just walked down to see how they are getting on. They’ve jacked the cab, without telling me, and there was stuff all over the cab loose. That will be a row when the screens smashed ffs

They have put the silver inside door knob off the series 3 on hours and its worked,we had a few where the tray on the drivers door has completely snapped off when drivers have caught ,we have got lots of rented oldish trailers in at the minute and the air build up and handbrake release is doing my head in :unamused:

Mines just been into Volvo Trucks Rotherham this weekend for these faults. Oil leak from oil filter housing (part on order) cab mount creeking when you drive over a pubic hair, the sun visor wouldn’t go up or down and it was stuck a quarter of the way down, the radio screen just went blank one day even though the radio was working and the Volvo letters were falling off the grille.
It’s only done 36,000 miles and even though it’s got the faults I think it’s the best truck ive had and I’ve had Merc Actros and DAF. The storage space is fantastic, the fridge is the best around for tramping IMO, the bed is great. I think all modern day trucks are ■■■■ when it comes to minor faults cropping up as we’re getting silly problems with our new Mercs too.

More than likely pal. Mine creeked even when I moved side to side stood up in the cab.

Mine made a strange noise this morning, like someone was pouring a tin of screws over the ns corner of the roof. The movement in the cabs is shocking. Has all your paint cracked on the top of the A pillars yet? Most of ours have

I’ve had my new fmx five weeks and no problems so far and it’s very well built.
Our 64 plate was recalled for an ad blue pump although the old one hadn’t failed.

They’re now saying the pumps are not at fault, I’ve had a new inlet pipe, as that’s their latest take on the problem. Just had an hour in with the md, upshot being I’m now getting a scania in 5 weeks

Dropped my 63 reg off for service this morning ,reported that the windscreen was cracking and mentioned that I had read about the pillars being the cause. The service manager said he had never heard of this problem.

They’ll never admit to it, that’s as good as saying the vehicles are structurally unstable. They’d all get grounded and volvo would probably go skint
