volvo f88

mi13ke:
an unusual one.
Late 70’s ex Consett BRS (I think) F88 converted at BRS Darlington into a recovery vehicle, replacing a 1959 Leyland Beaver and 1946 Diamond T, and would be joined by a Mammoth Major tanker conversion.

Looks like a none sleeper G88 maybe?

Certainly non sleeper, but it was badged (perhaps incorrectly) as an F88

I was just looking how far forward the front axle is that made me think it was a G88,

Great photo.Frightening how small that 88 looks next to the DAF.

When I got my 88 I thought it was HUGE! :unamused:

Very smart but more common in Europe than over here in this configuration!

Hi Andy,
Is this the new F88, with the 800 HP engine & 16 speed manual box with disc brakes, electric windows, air conditioning and leather seats? Speed limiter fitted as extra only? For a man in a red suit with a white beard who is working tonight!!

Hey A Danish freak in the '70’s.
