P S I would put my money on a 14 litre ■■■■■■■
I can see from here that it isn’t a 8 “flower pot” Johnnie,I think finding, and posting, a shot of a 8LXB Big J is a lost cause!! unfortunately. However if in the unlikely event that a clear and un-disputable shot is posted on the thread I will ,very grudgenly, take my “medicine”,the sourest and most un-palatable will be from the SOM lads ,no doubt!!! Cheers Dennis.

Spot on Johnnie! “H” would be the “dogs” pushing you up Shap and Beattock----but do you think he might have forgotten how to to drive a class motor like that? I think we should send him to the IOM for a refresher course on the “trams” clip clop!! On second thoughts forget that idea-----he’d be in the boozer all day with his “instructer” C. Webb esq.!! Cheers Dennis.
need another scammel-alan

Ditto,Killybegs F12,Dublin markets area.
Shouldn’t this thread have an 18 certificate? Brilliant memories, brilliant photos, thanks. You never, ever forget your F10/12/16, do you?
I think there were three motors that were responsible for moving motors forwards several decades in one generation in their time… the F10/12/16s, Scanias 0 and 1 series and the big cabbed DAFs… 2800/3300/3600 etc.
Bewick:
Is that ERF a steamer? it looks like it has a brick chimney pot growing out of its offside front
I drove several F10/F12 s for JSL of Stoke in the late 80s and 90s anyone know if any of these are still around…
E440YWL…F10
E450YWL…F10
E596AJO…F12
J956PFA…F12 Globetrotter
J957PFA…F12
J958PFA…F12 Globetrotter
Also 2 K reg F12 Globetrotters but I cant for the life of me remember the reg numbers
After that they went onto FH12s …I drove L233 HRE, N792 CRF.
Ive got some photos under the bed or in the loft somewhere I’ll try and dig them out and scan em.
I see Smith Bros in Widnes have a late model F12 or maybe its a 10 for sale on their pitch, it looks like an ex Stagetruck motor, looked smashing in the midweek sun. Well anything would brighten Ditton Rd up really would’nt it?
Fly sheet
Here’s a few Volvo’s that after retiring from Haulage duties moved over to Showland use. The F12 8x4 has been retired and replaced by a T Cab Scania 8x4 but the others were still in use this year.
gb1:
I bought this F12 Globetrotter from Dawsons in Leighton Buzzard. It was an ex Aston Clinton Haulage unit, and this was its first job after being painted.
Reg No. B413 YWL
I also bought an ex Aston Clinton Globetrotter F81 HFC does anyone remember them or their trucks.? Mine was a 3 axle job with a lifting rear called the S ride.
Theres a company just outside Whitchurch (Shropshire) called Weaver Transport that still run several F12 Globetrotters, all look in very good condition still worked hard all week pulling mostly flat trailers with wood, concrete and the like.
Blue and red livery IIRC
My old F12
i’m sure thier was 2 f10’s on ebay not too long ago that had belonged to a brake compamy and used for testing , very low mileage as i remember , i wish i had the money to buy one…
you are correct 2 F12’s only ever run around MIRA immaculate, think they still have them, they did not sell
