Volvo F10,F12,F16

Gazza, I still see wax, I will say hello for you. He runs a fence panel making firm now. Rockys name is Paul Stephenson I think. Chris.

I remembered it in the night chris (how sad) Paul Stephenson!!!

He lifted a balcony of a house in Spain with a fridge one night in a side street parking up for a meal with the lads on RD! Doh!

Gazza, I see your location is Malaga, thats a coincidence, cause Wax has an apartment just outside Malaga on the road north to Nerja.

Hello all,

Here are some more shots of the F12 that my Uncle had from new at AE Stuart & Sons, Clyst St Mary Exeter.

This was shortly after the lorry was painted.

Here she is with an early F10 of Stuart Snow from Andover.

Hope you like them. Andrew Stone

Chirisb: I am just to the north of Malaga and the coast (direction Nerja) is about 35mins away at Velez Malaga (Torre del mar) where the foto of the Viking Roller was taken. The packhouse is owned by TROPS but I dont think that was the name then…Berenguer rings a bell and he; Mr.Berenguer still exists with a shop in Velez Malaga, I remember his name being mentioned by Ralph. Just along the road from TROPS is COTRAVELMA (Co-operativo de Transportes Velez Malaga), should you ever see them about in the UK. Find out when Wax is next coming out and I will get to meet him somewhere. Cheers.

Anywayz back to the thread: Here is Me (by the left truck) and Dave parsons, subcontractor for Eurohaul Southampton, (by the right truck) on a test drive in Sweden courtesy of Volvo AB when the “Intercooler” F12 was just about to be released. It could have been late 1980 or early 1981. Along with John “Jelly” Jelbart (Eurohaul Workshop Manager) we were priviledged to be invited to test drive a 385 12 speed 38tonner and a rigid and semi trailer at 56 tons. We had a tour of the factory and some insight into the coming FL. This wasnt an exclusive tour, there were around 40 people invited to Sweden but only us 3 got the ride n drive option as both Dave and I were Globetrotter owners from when they were new. EAA770W being the first registered Globetrotter in the UK 08.08.80.

Gazza, I know Tropps very well, used to load out of there on a weekly basis, after collecting strawbs from the fields at ayamonte, then over to Velez malaga , repack the strawbs then homeward. Its always been called Tropps as far as know, !988 onwards. I will see Wax at the weekend and I will get him to log on this sight.Cheers Chris.

A tidy restoration
