Hi ChrisB.nice to know your still around, worked with you at wincanton brockworth. I was the day shunter bryn gardiner.
Here’s some photo’s of my all time favorite truck, not the most powerful or the fastest one I have driven, but if I could have any truck that I have driven again as a toy this would be the one.
This photo was taken on the A 7 just south of Hawick in the mid 80’s I just about $&it my self and didn’t sleep for a week after as I though I’d been silent checked by the minstery. The Central Borders in the 80’s wasn’t renowned for truck photographers.
Full load of plastic tanks 780 kgs… 11 / 12 to the gallon…
Truckfest Edinburgh 86 ■■ 87■■?
Getting ready for Truckfest 87? 88?
Same bloke caught me a few months later.

The middle figurine on the roof is different!
Different
I remember seeing that one at a truck racing/show thing, could have been Zolder ■■ a lot of work and money, very 80’s look.

Better than that horrible thing that Pete Holland used to do, half duck, half kids toy truck with a set of wheels on it. He even used to call it the Holland Duck. I don’t know why people used to pay him money to buy one and bolt it to their roof racks ■■?

Here are a couple from a show local to me (Cannock, Chasewater transport show IIR) a couple of years back. I see them regular at local transport shows.
BTW, does anyone have pictures of the Volvo that was owned by Sue’s Tyres in Cannock, it was very custom and had a few re-paints IIR

Awful. it looks like it was dropped off at a kids primary school.
The worst ‘F’ series ive ever seen, and when i used to see it on the road it did’nt look any better.
This F12 is still earning and in use most days, just out with it to tow a road sweeper with a clutch problem from Sutton Coldfield to Derby
Here’s a Middle-East F16 I found waiting for the ferry from Nuweiba in Egypt to Aquaba in Jordan. Robert
And here’s an F12 I drove for Harrier Express of Faversham in the early '90s. Robert
This ex-Lynch F12 was owned by Carn Distribution in Cornwall. I took it to Germany a couple of times in the mid-nineties while we waited on delivery of a new MAN. I think it must have been a 3.6m wheelbase as it was very short and not particularly stable with 24 tonnes of china clay onboard. It had space-shuttle-type mileage and I prayed the thing wouldn’t break down as we didn’t have mobile phones and the boss wasn’t overly fastidious about servicing either!
Spot the SK Merc with a tilt who got there before me
Parked on a loading bay next to a different sort of Merc tractor
I saw this tidy old German drawbar many years later in a service station near Koblenz. Just had to take a photo of it as it’s rare to see one still running in this condition.
