It was, if fitted with the VOLVO option that is the solenoid switch location

that f16 used to belong to steve tong, it was a feature in one of the truck magazines many years ago, he had the truck chassis stretched and fitted a tipper body the truck has recently been put back as a unit in the evs workshops
how do I know? well I have the body that was removed from this very truck

So its not as straight and nice as it sounds, it would of also had a 3rd axle

in the 80s i drove a maggie drawbar outfit & a Foden (wi the big round headlights) artic when required anyway i was sent tae BRS rental at Carlisle to pick up a unit for a couple o months…it was a B reg. F10 wi a 16 speed box what a wagon for a young driver !!! running light loads.
It was the best truck i had ever driven i still remember it like yesterday
.made a big impact wi the other drivers at the company as well(■■■■■ ,■■■■■).only drove it a few weeks before having to go back on the drag but for me the F10/12 was the truck o the 80s.

Yes your right it did have a lifting 3rd axle which must have been removed, when I saw it collecting the body it was still in 6x2 form with the tipper removed!
if they have made a good job of putting it back as a unit it will be worth a good few quid, it is v tidy as it’s been dry stored for in the teens of years, the truck only did a few loads with the tipper body as I think the original owner bought and sold topsoil
the tipper body itself is a 1977 vintage which was if I remember right was cut down from an 8 wheeler, then fully rebuilt and fitted to the f16 with a new ram and on board weigher!
just had another quick look at the advert, they left the original period back lights on the tipper body and fitted a later Volvo type!

Hi everyone, just got a quick question please: on the f10/12 which way did the passenger side glovebox hinge open? Was it up towards the screen or downwards?

I’m building a scale model and was planning the above feature!

Looks like it started life with Carters

It hadn’t gone far from home then, I took that pic mid 80s when I was picking up a load of pasta in Great Yarmouth! Regards Chris
