Volvo F10,F12,F16

This was myself tony and rodger the dodger( ■■■■■■ car) just about to get on Brittany ferries to Caen. As some of you know wide loads couldnt run after 12 on a saturday ,but Coca Cola wanted there bottling plant on that very day as they had cranes set up and a small army to install this plant, they said they would pay any fines they wasnt arsed how much it cost . So we carried on driving to Lyon .We never got stopped all day, until we reached the outskirts on Lyon.Rodger gave the Gendarms some “coffee money” and on we went with a police ■■■■■■ hahahah .Incidentally this was tonys first time out with a wide load so me a rodger baby sat Tony who was a jibbering wreck . He only took out about 20 white road side markers and one set of traffic light’s, but he learnt how to drive a truck with a wide load on and most of all listen to experience

Regular runs to Setabul in Portugal with Paint for the dry docks , this photo was taken in a rest aire just south of Bordeaux.

The above MRCT picture is a classic!! G37HCL was a brand new F6 4 wheeler that they had just bought from Duffields. It didn’t look …er well interesting enough!! so they pulled the plates off F846YPW ( F10) and put the new plates on it and sent it for the above piccy …All in the name of advertising of course!

Haha, interesting back story, Gilbert, thanks! I was even more of an anorak back then, so I may’ve possibly picked-up on it at the time, although if I did then all traces of the information have long since disappeared!

anyone from Ashbourne Derby area recognise this one D919 CVT,i bought it from a dealer near there,it was sky blue and had the name Bloore on the side ,i think it had the 330 engine with the 12 speed splitter,it came with alley wheels and eminox exhaust…

Going through some old pictures and found this one of Dave walkers.

The Belgian reg Intertransport Danzas Volvo was driven , from new, by Ronnie Niewbourg, a hell of a nice guy. i worked with him for 3 years subbing pulling trailers for B E T Zeebrugge, many stories of driving hours to be talked about with him. We used to come of boat in Dover midnight, tip Mercado carpets at Shawfield Glasgow, turn round empty back to Dover to catch 02-30 boat to Zeebrugge next day, load carpets again and back for boat at 20-30 at night. We did a big job together to Newport South Wales most weekends arriving back in zeeb to load carpets again Sunday, carpets again for Glasgow and away we went again. Weekends were very few and far between then. but Ronnie was a great worker and a good old friend. The Danzas job was groupage from Ghent area to Ireland every week. saw him a few times he said it was like a holiday compared to some of the jobs we did. The good old days very hard work but very drunken time off, when we got any. Terry

Hi ,

i think the volvo was driven by marcel (jaguar was his Nickname) . My father worked there for about 12 years after he had his own company . Ronnie was his name . Maybe it’s the same ronnie (nieuwborg was his company name when he was owner-driver) . His last name is Waterschoot . Do you still have some more pictures of intertransport?? He wasnt really a picture taker  .

Hey here one from this or an other site, we did the same but mostly with Sannies and some volvo’s.

Cheers Eric,
