i agree, you had your chance and has been said they are a transport company not a training school holding your hand along the way. you had your chance and blew it.

dinosteveus1:
Take what Frans tells you with a pinch of salt. None of the Instructors at the Academy have ever heard of him and he holds NO weight at Erp. When things go wrong he does NOT want to know.

dinosteveus1:
I said to Caas, Willy, Jacc and Ferry about giving me extra driving as agreed with you, Who? they said, so I showed them your card. They said you are UK Manager not Erp.

make your mind do they know him or not :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation: :exclamation:

the way i see it is that vdb pay for your flights so if you took your car thats up to you isnt not anybody else.

here you go have a chew on these.

His name is on the card along with his job details. Happy saddo?
BTW, I don’t give a toss how YOU see it, you wasn’t there. Your opinion is irrelevant.

Got to agree with Gogzy here, they have obviously had a shed load of applications and I presume they dont have a job for every single one of them so they pick the best on offer you just wasn’t one of them. Just get over it and get looking for something else simple really

dinosteveus1:
Not even 3 days at Erp, fired before Lunchtime on day 3.

If you had the same attitude with VDB like you have with some members on here then it wouldn’t have been your driving that got you fired. :open_mouth:

fine tell me where to come

@dinosteveus1
LOOK what ever your feelings are, no one is going to give some one a job if they
believe that your driving or working experience is not up to scratch, Unfortunately
today time is money So it may have been in your case that they believed the costs
outweighed the return they may have got from you, IN today’s world not many firms
are willing to let some take over a job which if done incorrectly can cost millions
when a contaminated load is mixed within the factory due to some tanker driver
doing their job wrong, Sorry mate ,but get some good basic knowledge and experience
and then try again

Sorry to hear what happened dinosteveus1 but, and I don’t mean any disrespect by this, I had a feeling you wouldn’t last. I didn’t expect it to be so short, I thought you would last one, maybe two, 3 week periods at most, but based on some of the questions you asked in several threads leading up to your departure I didn’t think you were ready for this job. I also had a PM conversation with another TN member and he was of the same opinion. This is one of the very few occasions when I am not happy to be right. I hope you find something soon, good luck.

This is the most important bit of kit in the cab, mess it up and you don’t get paid. :stuck_out_tongue:

Volvo Hotel

He had some nice things to say about you. I think I misjudged you based on that other  thread. Know what I mean? After speaking to another Mod and the removal of the sig, your rudeness/bluntness was maybe justified. :frowning:

Hopefully my last post on this thread,
When WE went out with this other Dutch chap (Ferry (instructor I think)) we changed drivers at a Car park and there was a learner Wag and Drag vehicle parked up.
When Caas said I wasn’t experienced enough, I offered to pay for extra tuition, he thought I’d meant back here, but I meant over there with a proper training company.
I wanted the job, end of. :open_mouth:

Sometimes too much experience, even the good kind, is not what a company wants, especially if the driver is the type to constantly say things such as, “But we always did it this way” or “I’ve done it this way for years” and so on. I have no idea of that was the situation in this case, I’m just saying why experience is not always a good thing.

Some drivers, even experienced drivers don’t get a grip quickly with left hand drive.
The Dutch road are narrrow and the mirrors expensive.
We have drivers who pick it up without any issue, others fail, we only have so much time than we have, to go on, we have at the moment over 85 UK drivers who had no problem with it.
We had around 6 failures who couldn’t be brought upto speed quick enough, of the 85 there are approx 15 drivers with none or very little experience.
We have some good experiences with very young unexperienced drivers, some of them will getting specialised training for unique equipment.
We have expereinced drivers who are very good and we have drivers experienced and unexperienced who need a little longer, but you need to be able to drive, because the training center is fully booked and we need to get you in 5 days running (we train 8-10 new drivers a week + retraining and after accident assesments)

What is going on■■? Just logged on :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: . Do you think they want to send anyone home?

Its a GREAT JOB.

Sorry for you steve.

There will be more like you that cant make the grade.
Dont take it to hard.

Thanks Frans

He kept apologising for going over the broken white line and then apologising for not going over the broken white line the next day.
We both wanted to learn and wanted the job.
I wonder why he ain’t posting.

I know it is, I told you how great it was out there and how much I was enjoying it.

As for ‘making the grade’, that was discussed in great lenghth before I went over and as far as I was aware it was in hand.
Anyway, nuff said.

BTW, Nice to meet you, a real pleasure. :stuck_out_tongue:

I totally and honestly agree with everything that has been said here. There are plenty of opporunities and chances in the first week to prove that you can cope. After all VDB is a company not a charity, nor a college of further education. I too was an inexperienced driver and am grateful for the opportunity. Just on my week off after my first stint, and can honestly say enjoying every minute. Everybody I have met has been helpful - and wages in the bank on time - bonus!! What more can you ask for!!
