If you go to war with an enemy that you then don’t want to destroy to the last…
You cannot win that war.
You have the proverbial two hands tied behind your back.
How can you win in Ukraine if you’re not prepared to make a “Dresden” of Kiev?
Be careful what you wish for.
Putin has enough infrastructure to destroy the entire country serveral times over.
There’s more chance of that happening first than Putin’s demise happening first, which the West ASSUMES will “end the war”.
Why? - Putin’s Parliament is WAY more right-wing than he is… You could even call Putin a “Moderate” by comparison with the current Duma make-up…

There are plenty of voices in Russia calling for Russia to make an example of the UK by nuking us and thereby calling out NATO.On that basis agreed Putin is a moderate.Turning the UK to a smoking wasteland on the bet that the US won’t then want to go for Mutually Assured Destruction in retaliation is the glaringly obvious way in which Russia solves it’s NATO problem.
Ukrainians should feel very lucky indeed that Putin is nowhere near as Right Wing as Netenyahu right now huh?
…Imagine Lviv getting carpet-bombed in retaliation for the drone strikes on Rostov…

Yes, that’s true. I don’t think Putin is scared of NATO at all. He’s just ■■■■■■ off NATO keep nicking what used to be Russian territory in peacetime. If you cannot win a “Peace” then “back to war” seems a more lively option. IF Putin is the warmonger we’re told he is, of course…
Personally, I reckon there’s more chance we’ll one day be nuked with NATO weapons “To prevent Airstrip One falling into enemy hands” the rest of the world will be told of such an atrocity…
As a Chess Move, Putin would look very strong indeed if he turned on one of his allies right now - to make an example of THEM…
Nope, I’m not talking about Hungary or Belarus here… I’m thinking more along the lines of IRAN.
What would the West say (who dearly want to go to war vs Iran, but are afraid of Putin’s response if they did…) if Putin himself “Pulled their plug” so to speak?
Russian attack sub - takes a few Iranian warships out in the Straits of Hormuz area for instance…
The West would have to reluctantly THANK putin for “solving the Red Sea Piracy Issue” overnight with an of-course Right-Wing Solution huh?

I’ll assume you are ignorant of the “connection”…
Iran are backing Yemen Pirates with weapons and cash to attack ALL western shipping that needs to use not just the Red Sea, but the Straits of Hormuz and of course the Gulf of Oman as well.
If nothing is done to stop them - all shipping companies around the world - will be forced to use the old-fashioned route “Around the Cape of Good Hope” to access between the Atlantic and Indian oceans. Indeed, Maersk and Evergreen have already announced their intentions to that effect, which means the West IF they continue to do “nothing” are deliberately stoking up inflation on a massive scale… Assuming that getting everyone’s houses re-possessed is their conspiracy here, of course…
Perhaps the West will end up uniting against such Iranian actions and will shortly start giving Yemen the treatment that Gaza has been getting of late?
…Before that can happen though - Russia needs to be cutting Iran loose, so there is enough slack in the balance-of-power for Western hostility towards Yemen to be able to go ahead with the same impunity that Israel is currently demonstrating in Gaza…
