Just got up to find I’ve got an email from millionaire Nigel. Asking for donations to the cause as they need 80k to help field a candidate in the by election. Peanuts for monkeys! I think I’ll give it a miss this time around.
BillyHunt:
For all of you desperate to vote ukip & get us out of Europe. Take the time to read this just so you understand the consequences.
economist.com/node/21567914/print
How about this civitas.org.uk/pdf/insideradvantage
So after trawling through all of that the basics are, there has been some benefit from being in Europe but not as much as claimed, possibly! The thing is it’s all speculation until we get out of Europe, if we get out that is. While their are some on here that want it, don’t be surprised if it’s a no vote when it does come around. Not everyone is against it, some will be making cash out of it, other than MEPs that is.
I’ve said before, politics in this country has come down to personalities not policies.
No, politics in this country is fuelled by propaganda via a bought and paid for media, it is totally discredited and a national disgrace, postal vote rigging that makes Zimbabwe look like an epicentre of democracy.
The 4 stooges on Question Time in Southampton last week, ganging up shouting and yah booing like a bunch of adolescent children trying to shout Farage down summed up the sham that politics has descended into.
Fascism comes in many guises, none more so earnest than the liberal left when they decide that free speech is only allowed when the message is one they want heard or agree with.
How many other ukip MEPs can people on here name, without going onto google? How many on here say they will vote for ukip because they think Nigel is a good bloke? How many won’t vote Tory, labour, lib dem, because they don’t like Cameron, milliband, or clegg?
Fascism does come in many guises, currently it’s wearing purple & yellow.
BillyHunt:

Unfortunately, this statement simply flags up your inability to understand 20th and 21st Century politics. As George Orwell wrote in 1944,
…even the people who recklessly fling the word ‘Fascist’ in every direction attach at any rate an emotional significance to it. By ‘Fascism’ they mean, roughly speaking, something cruel, unscrupulous, arrogant, obscurantist, anti-liberal and anti-working-class. Except for the relatively small number of Fascist sympathizers, almost any English person would accept ‘bully’ as a synonym for ‘Fascist’. That is about as near to a definition as this much-abused word has come… All one can do for the moment is to use the word with a certain amount of circumspection and not, as is usually done, degrade it to the level of a swearword.
I don’t mind sensible debate, but just flinging the words “racist” and “fascist” around to describe politics which is neither just seems a bit childish.
Tell me, is that when anyone uses it or just people you don’t agree with?
I’ve seen enough politics, and politicians, in my time to know what I see & not be blinded by single issue parties with charismatic leaders, not to believe all the headlines in the sun & star, let alone the daily fail or express. It’s ok for Nigel to say its hard to vet all our members but you’d think they might at least try a little harder with their candidates.

Well, I don’t read the Sun, the Star, the Mail or the Express, and I’ll remind you that the upcoming Newark by-election is only happening because of the resignation of the sitting Conservative member, who is facing a “cash for questions” enquiry.
Why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Fascist, racist, bigot, xenophobe etc, all something you accuse your opponent of when you cannot be bothered to present any argument to justify your disagreement with his point of view.
The libdems were up for the Farage vs Clegg tv debate on europe, all the polls I’ve seen show them having lost the argument convincingly in most people’s opinions (including mine). At least they were prepared to have the argument, unlike Labour and Conservatives.
I don’t care what you think of UKIP, they are certainly no worse as a collective than any of the mainstream lot. I care about the future of our country and we will be better off in or out of europe with UKIP more prepared to put our interests first.

Exactly, with BillyHunt it’s all just about personal attacks, name calling, and now the suggestion that UKIP supporters are swayed by the opinions of tabloid newspapers, despite the fact that the newspapers mentioned are universally opposed to UKIP and regularly print smear stories with no serious debate about continued membership of the eu.
I’m guessing the Conservatives are seriously rattled about UKIP. Hopefully the Euro elections will be the wake-up call they have been studiously ignoring up to now.
I sincerely hope that UKIP sweep the board in the Euro elections then we will have the situation of a hostile squad of MEP’s in the Euro parliement voted for by the British electrate which would be a referendum in all but name and the other three parties having had a right kick in the “nuts” but still banging on about why we should remain in the EU,now that would really underline the fact that the three “establishment” political parties refuse to listen to the electrate, and never have. Then we could get stuck into the ■■■■■■■■ again at the General election, bring it on Bewick.

All four of the newspapers you mention are Conservative supporting newspapers, and you are a Conservative.
Are you sure it’s not you who is blinded here?

Must say I’m with you on this one Bewick. Because of the low voting turnout the main parties dont have to try too hard to get elected. This allows them to blithely ignore the electorate once in power. Same as you, I’m hoping UKIP does the deed in the Euro elections. With more strength to their elbow they may attract some good people to their cause. If not it might still be a wake up call to polititions that we are not to be tacken for granted…dave

‘…Norway has adopted the DCPC…’
Within which there are caveats not necessarily equating with them being wholly subordinate to outsiders - which is what UK MP’s must always ensure UK drivers are to be
That evidences that Norwegians are running themselves - and good on them too - which is surely better than being subordinate dis-enfranchisees to unelected outsiders

Oops, there I go with the name calling again, except I didn’t start it.

The sitting MP in Newark is an independent btw. No idea what thy quote means.
Yes I am a conservative voter, always have been, I don’t apologise for that. They are the only party that will get us back on track, as is happening now. You don’t hear any of the other leaders denying that fact, regardless of what some on here would have you believe.
Yes ukip are very popular at the moment, riding a wave of anti immigration policies that appeal to the unhappy masses. Even the top pollsters will tell you that, come general election time the vast majority will revert to voting for their normal party. If you want to vote ukip to send a message to the other parties then feel free, but would you honestly put the future of this country in their hands? It’s no good saying they couldn’t be any worse that the others, I think a party with no policies other than get us out of Europe would be an absolute disaster for this country.
You all bang on about getting out of Europe like it would turn this country around, how it would benefit the working man so, come on then, tell me how much better off I will be.

Big allegation, that. Proof please.
well ive voted for labour and conservative and ukip over the years im not one of these people who say ive got to vote labour cos my granny told me, think for your self, I will be voting ukip without a doubt this time it was announced a couple of weeks ago that we cant afford a cancer drug that keeps people alive a bit longer from 3 months to 3 years, well that’s disgusting if you think about it, we give 55 million pounds a day to Europe 45 billion a year to overseas aid its got to stop but will the two main parties stop it no they wont, let ukip have a go,if they get in at the euros it will be great to see them blocking everything in Brussels, and did you here that turkey has just been given millions of euros to build a bridge and their not even in Europe yet, it stinks our masters want shooting give ukip a chance I say

Two random hits from umpteen on any search engine of your choice, its the BBC so no bias of course.

The second one is a demand from a Tory MP, so again impeccable credentials.
Why are people so aggressive with UKIP and creating false reasons to vote? Wouldn’t it be better to invest your time and energy in making your own parties better electable? Isn’t that the way democracy’s supposed to work or am I being naive?
Ossie
Not exactly to do with the DCPC but it does have some bearing on UKIP and Farage I found this in Salford
The writting is on the wall for Farage in salford at least, Though how long the picture will stay visable i can’t say, I personally don’t find it offensive in any way,I also think there’s possibly some degree of truth in what someone as added to the poster as well, If there’s a problem, i may be able to edit the text a little
