Where is it?
I am banging my head against a brick wall trying to find work up here. I have literally exhausted every avenue 
Basically, I want to work, need to work and am now thinking about travelling to the work. So, where should I start my search? The Midlands, North West, North East! Down South?
Nothing exciting down this way unless you have decades of experience and don’t mind working for a pittance
Ive recently moved from Huntingdon to Upton nr South Elmsall, W Yorks, I have 30 mins max drive to Wakefield, Normanton, Leeds, Sherburn in Elmet, Doncaster, Probably Goole, But the amount of Transport companies around, It should be quite easy to get work.
I transferred within the Agency and moved from working at Peterborough to Sherburn in Elmett, Only a couple of days off, but obviously not missed as still things to do at home (only moved 10th Dec)

For Sth Lincs your nearest port of call is Peterborough and Corby, if you could find work there would a commute be possible?.
The whole of Northants and Magna Park, Rugby etc, even if agency at first you should be able to make a weeks work up, i imagine Homebase will soon start needing extra agency lads for the rush to stock for the spring, so they tend to soak a good number of lads up.
I’ve seen a number if different vehicles scattered around the truckers regular but quieter layby’s with obvious truck drivers sleeping semi rough in big old cars, MPV’s and 4x4’s, one or two camper vans too, no not the camp type dogging. 
, seems a harsh life but good luck to the lads i say we sometimes have to do things we don’t want to make a crust.
Hopefully they and you will find closer work soon so won’t have to rough it too long.

I’ve never struggled for work in North Lincolnshire. Theres numerous traction companies that do ferry freight trailers and while its not super star money its usually garunteed day rate wages and not really a hard job, plus you are usually out all week so travelling would be more worth while for you. But be warned, we always flash other drives in up and down the M180 
You may laugh at being offered £400-500 pw take home for being out all week. But if not, get in touch with some companies around Immingham. Also, I dont know where in South Lincolnshire you are but last year when I came home for Christmas I did a few weeks on tippers for Alford Traffic and while it was harder work and longer hours than ferry freight, I was easily banking between £500-600 pw with four nights out. Basic day rate wasn’t up to much but I made good money on load bonus. Just an idea?

im bolton born and bred , i still have my whippets thanose , but i lived over that way for a while , well about 20 miles from there .

I probably know you then? I am 27 and went to baysgarth, I left there in 2000. I did wonder if your name refered to Gallows Wood. My brother works at Kimbery Clark in the yard there.
I am in south west london and all quiet up here so far but am thinking of moving to liverpool in March as prices getting a little too high for me up here.
