Two 24 hour break and count as a 45

Hello im trying to find out can you have two seprate 24 hour breaks in a week and count them as a 45

No it must be at least 45 uninterrupted hours to count as a full break.

A regular weekly rest is an unbroken 45 hours

Anything less than 45 but more than 24 is a reduced

A reduced does not turn into a regular when it is compensated for

There is absolutely no excuse for asking such a stupid question, even if you are new to driving ffs :unamused:

There are many stupid answers

It’s better ROG for the op to learn the basics before setting foot in a lorry. And if he was really interested he could have found the answer and all the regulations in 30 seconds on the internet. But he can’t be bothered to do that so asked the question on here instead.

Reading them and understanding them in the way they are written are two different things

That s true. And it’s probably the reason there is so much confusion. But even in a befuddled state, the op could still have found the answer.

Im just trying to find out if you can get away with it been told before that you can. not every one know everything like some of you think you do.

You did the right thing - being told something you were suspicious of then coming on here to find out if true or not

Probably if he did a search on the internet he would have ended up on trucknet anyway. And whats wrong with asking questions on here, I’ve asked many which to some might have been blindingly obvious, but at least those people had the courtesy to answer them.

Nope…I googled 45 hour weekly rest and got the answer without clicking on the link.

Fair enough dominic. You had the sense to seek out the answer instead of just taking their word for it and that was the right thing to do. Read over the regulations then read them again and again. If unsure about something then ask on here( like you did  ) ROG, Tachograph and other’s will keep you right.

google.co.uk/?gfe_rd=cr&ei= … st&spell=1

‘EU drivers’ hours rules’ - Gov.uk

gov.uk/drivers-hours/eu-rules

The main points of EU rules on breaks and rest are that you must take: … between any two weekly rest periods; an unbroken rest period of 45 hours every week …
