I have had many hours of fun on here with the dinosaurs, quite often we disagreed, but the arguments were good from both sides and they rarely developed into the slanging matches we have now. When it did get a little bit heated it was still on topic or relevant to the tangent the thread had veered on to.
The only thing that is stopping trucknetuk returning to its former glory is the people who post, as I’ve said in my previous posts on this subject, the forum is only as entertaining as the members make it, so instead of bleating about the crap on here, I’m going to continue doing what I always have, but I can’t do it on my own, so a little help from the rest of the dinosaurs would be good, with just a few decent posts from you lot we could completely turn things around. I’ll put my money where my mouth is and get cracking, let’s see what the rest of you have got…
What a load of bollox and arse-licking. 
You’ve turned into Rikki’s lap dog since becoming a mod here. There was once a time where (like me) you would tell Rikki he was wrong when he was wrong, but now you’ve turned into some wet blanket “yes Rikki, no Rikki, oh yes I quite agree Rikki” just like all the other mods here who used to actually have an opinion of their own prior mod status.
The SOLE reason the “dinosaurs” have abandoned ship is down to Rikki’s terrible administration and inconsistent application of the forum rules. Ever since he was given the job of running this site and the ‘community manager’ title the forums have being going south (from a content perspective). What this site desperately needs is some proper mods that know what they’re doing and have no allegiance to any other members, like Pam Mix for example: firm but fair (and I’ve had my fair share of posts removed/edited by her in the past before someone screams favouritism). The current team is absolutely hopeless and no-one has the bottle to deal with the root cause of the current issues and that is permanently removing half a dozen-or-so members that are here for no other purpose but to troll and get a rise from certain people. Address that issue and given time you will see many of those that abandoned ship climb back onboard and post stuff that is interesting to debate/discuss instead of having the bunch of ‘one line reply’ posters that the site harbours now.
It’s completely pointless posting anything interesting worthy of discussion/debate anyway as all the articulate members of old are no longer here and you just end up with either 3 pages of one line replies from the pre-pubescent troll gang posting members’ personal details and fake Facebook pages. If you’re lucky you might get a reply from Carryfast instead who will initially stay on topic for 5 mins but then quickly steer it towards his usual anti-German and anti-American Southern State racist slants. Or you could be gay like some here and receive endless tirades of homophobic abuse as replies to anything you post. It’s just BS. Nothing ever gets done to the perpetrators so what is the point of even having any moderators? It is there for nothing more than ornamental purposes.
Trolling… racism… homophobia… inconsistent moderation/complete lack of it… and you wonder why all the prolific posters have disappeared, Mark? It’s all here in front of your eyes chap.

In this case I do agree with Rikki, it is easy to blame everything on the moderators or admin team, but they only get involved when it goes off, it’s the people who start threads and comment that make the site what it is, if the only ones posting are teenage wannabees or complete idiots who shouldn’t be allowed out on a bike without stabilisers, well what do you expect
I do, like you, disagree with premod, if someone messes up the general running of the site with trolling or abusive posts, then ban them forever. Yes they can rejoin under another name, but if they start playing up, they get banned again, they’ll soon lose interest and ■■■■ off for good
If this was my site I would do things a little differently, but it isn’t, so I take what I can from it, there are plenty of things that get my goat, like the constant quoteing of posts that stretch threads into hundreds of pages, there are some posters that I would love to punch in the face, every word they type is complete tripe, so I don’t even bother reading their stuff, I just skip through and filter the stuff I don’t want to see, but then I come on here for entertainment, not to moan. HTH
