This used to be a fun forum with a bit of banter and craic, now it seems like every other person is on pre mod and every other topic is locked! And on prof drivers forum (not newbie) we have so called drivers asking pathetic questions. All this along with a certain clique that appears to go on between members and mod’s make this a pretty cr ap forum. It’s certainly anything but a prof drivers forum.
And the auto censor does not like me calling it [zb]net

Whilst that’s perfectly true, there are those who would attempt to bully the vast majority of posters who wish to take part within the froum rules into accepting swearing and threats etc. This will never be tolerated on TN, but there are other sites whose owners/managers allow such things to go on on their sites.
You can join one of those sites, if that’s your wish.
It’s only fair that everybody has a choice.

So is it that a question is pathetic if you say it is?
How should the rest of us decide whether a person’s question is pathetic or not?
For instance, if you asked a question that I considered to be pathetic, should I make that comment?
Or should I simply just answer the question if I can help?
There are many quite varied areas in the transport industry, and it’s possible that a person might have done one kind of work for many years. It’s also possible that the same person might have had to change jobs and needs to ask what you might consider to be a pathetic question.
Where else would that person ask the question if not on a forum that doesn’t call his question “pathetic?”
I totally agree about the many varied jobs in the haulage industry and I personally would ask if doing a job or route I wasn’t familiar with, but a good example is someone asking would a 14’8 trailer go under a 14’11 bridge, this is the sort of thing I’m talking about.

Agreed, IMHO this might come of not thinking (or looking in the highway Code) before posting.
However, it is in some people’s nature to lack confidence, and so they feel the need to ask a question.
The only daft question is the one that they don’t ask, then plough on in complete ignorance all the way to their next disaster.
Ya can’t win 'em all.

Today so far 3565 people have visited these forums - we dont have any more than 1% of those on pre mod- and the only posts that get locked are those that break the rules- again the huge majority post with no issue- but why let the facts and the true story get in the way of a good rant… go for it
Oh and if it is finished, (July 2011 - 1,875,092- July 2012 - 2,229,127 page views - a 26% increase- hardly a dying forum) why are you still here? I dont see anyone forcing you to use a website you dont like Dont like it dont use it… simples
Nobody forcing me indeed my choice just putting my opinion across it is a feedback forum isn’t it? And your response and attitude is a prime example of how you are unable to take criticism good to see how you listen to the visitors of the site.

Standard reply from Rikki " if you don’t like it ■■■■ off"
Oh we listen… we have backed off on some things- and at the request of users come down harder on others. we cant please everyone all of the time - the simple fact that usage has grown month by month non stop and in ten years have never had a negative growth shows that we do appeal to the majority aand not the vocal minority- its a hard fact for those that dont like us - but for the huge majority of users we are getting it just about right- and for the few that shout a lot- tough - just because you shout doesn’t mean your more important

Correct we have 1000’s of members every day who use this site quite happily… and a few who moan… who should I listen too? the quiet 1000’s or the same few ? I would have thought by now it would be apparent… the silent none vocal vast majority wins every time

this again, is a fair comment, why would you keep visiting a place that you don’t like?
or, does Rikki have a gun to your head to keep you here?
Shuttlespanker have you ever thought of being a diplomat?

many times, as i have often been told that i have the diplomacy of a brick through a window
Just wondered but it might be hard to find the time since you ball lick the mods on here so much!

so, the first quote is ■■■■■■■■■■■■ the mods is it?
and there was me, thinking i was saying that YOU had a valid point
or is it that you are just too much of a ■■■■■■■■ to realise this?
do you accuse everyone who agrees with you of sucking up to the mods?
do us a favour fella, grow a pair!!!
or, you could go off sulking in the corner and do what Rikki suggested and “if you don’t like it, ■■■■ off”
Knock off the personal attacks- both of you! - this a feedback forum not a playground free for all- I notice you havent/ cant respond to the small matter of the facts above.
As a mate once said to me … " when your in a hole… dont dig any deeper" you only look more daft.
Oh you really are macho aren’t you? Did I hit a nerve ?

not really, you just amuse me
I have to agree with bigtruck , it is rather quite and dull here of late.
