Trucks Impounded in Spain

Can anyone shed any details on this…

Are they left to rust? sold off?

Once impounded, can you ever get it back?

where is the compound near Malaga?

Friend of a friend had his R Series and Fridge impounded 3 yrs ago, not been seen since. He was not the driver. He is still in Spain too so I hear.

Would be interested to hear if there’s a slight chance he could get it back? He has just finished paying off the finance!

Usually just left near to where he was caught.
Probably stripped for parts by now.

What did he get caught with?

The compound near Malaga is at the CTM (Centro de Transportes y Mercancias) secure lorry park situated on the A357 at about (from memory) PK65.
There are or were quite a few impounded trucks in there which had been there for donkeys years. Whether they are sold on at auction or left to rot I have no idea.

If he wants it back then he needs to speak to whomever impounded it in the first place - no doubt the answer will depend upon many things, but for sure he will end up being presented with a bill for the entire time it has been parked up which will have to be paid before the truck will be released, if it is to be released at all.

De nada!

Alguien aqui que habla castellano!!!buena pascua

I do not think he will get the truck back, it has gone for good.

Why didn’t he try and get it back 3 years ago? Bit weird.

why was it impounded ■■

I assume(dangerous,I know!) reading the OP that the driver has been ‘impounded’ as well,so possibly something more serious than failing to pay a fine?

only the owner can claim a vehicle back, but i have bought a few vw campers off the guardia civil when the paperwork was “lost”

There used to be a Spanish truck in the HMC&E compound yard in Poole docks, opposite the canteen. They took my 142 with 1500 litres of cherry in it, and sold it on.Just spent £2000 on it, repainted the cab, new tyres all round, new alarm too.

That was yonks ago Toby! It was a white Iveco weren’t it?

I expect you remember Toby, there were 2 impounded F10,s (blue with blue box trailers ) in Alverca for years.

They were Welcome group lorries, pharmacutical lorries, didnt they merge with Glaxo?

What was the name of those blue+white F10 boxes that used to do Portugal? Sort of West country/Sotton. The foreman used look like Windsor Davies. smoke a pipe ,wear a regimental blazer ,drink pints in the brothels - ignoring the gals.

Ha, quality Harry. Did he wear a monacle as well and carry a duelling pistol?

Unlucky tobester, bet that was a Doh! Moment.

He used to pose with a pint mug at bar as tho he was the only one in the place that was there for the beer. He probably was a ‘face’ back home & was terrified his mates would grass him if he chatted to the talent. The firm coulda been Bordens?
